No mazes. No zombies. No games.
America Falls

Think North Korea and Russia are the greatest danger to the United States? Think again. After a surprise biological attack, America, the most powerful nation on Earth, quickly succumbs, with 99.91% of the population over the age of 16 decimated. As society unravels, and the ground invasion of his country begins, loner Isaac Race must form a connection with a ragtag group of survivors and elude not only the invaders, but other dangers and threats unleashed in chaotic Post-America.

Hell Week is the first installment of America Falls, a post-apocalyptic survival series, a compelling, action-packed story about who we are and who we have to become in order to survive.

This book/series was originally published as After Days and has been re-written and re-branded to embrace the author's original intentions of creating a compelling episode-driven adventure. For lovers of books by Jack Hunt, Bobby Akart, AR Shaw, Chris Pike, Ryan Westfield, Harley Tate, and Mike Sheridan.

Good, but half a book

Generally speaking, I thought the book was good. Though, some of the dialogue was a bit clunky. Not sure if that is because of how it was written, or because of the narrator.

Very nice change to the genre

I have to say I’m really pleasantly surprise by the book and how well the story moved along. It was a lot better then I expected and I’m ready for #2, I was prepared to grill the narrator going against the gold standard of Kevin Pierce, but he held his own and did a great job. At 5 hours it’s not a long book by any means but I feel satisfied. Worth the listen and I would say 13+ year old friendly.

Wow was not expecting that!

My main complaint about this book it is that it's too short! This is a really good start to a series. I found myself not wanting the book to end. I don't know if I will get a free review copy or not, but I will definitely be picking up part 2.

I also found the narrator a little slow for my taste. I just set the speed to 1.25 and everything was good.

Nice Twist on the American Apocalypse

I really liked this book and main character. This book is written from a young man's perspective and very effectively conveys his reaction as being alone in a dead and then invaded America. The plot is plausible, well thought out and delivered well in this first installment of a series with great potential.
Sorry no zombies, nuclear war or EMPs, but this is just as engineered plague scenario is just as scary.
Adam Barr does a great job of narrating this book.

Really enjoyed this introduction to a new series. Interesting take on the traditional post apocalyptic style of writing. Pretty good character development and the story is getting more interesting as it goes. Looking forward to the rest of the series

I think the book overall was really good even though it was a little hard to get into at the beginning. It got better as the book went on and I will definitely pick up the next one in the series.

Shot of adrenaline needed!

Hell Week is a bit of a humdrum roller coaster ride. The prologue begins with an interesting introduction describing a virus that has eliminated 96% of North America’s adult population, leaving the young to survive on their own. From that point the story devolves into a series of conversations between characters on what to do and where to go. Unfortunately, the action did not pick up until late in the story when another group of survivors appeared to rescue our hapless youngsters. This new fledgling militia group of sorts began to turn the story around renewing my interest once again. Perhaps the next volume will carry on this breath of fresh air. Three.point.five for a second chance. This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.

It's the end of America

I love post apocalyptic books, movies, comic, everything. That's why I decided to review this book. I knew going in that there was no zombies or aliens, which I have to admit made me a little sad. Because I LOVE zombies and aliens. Especially zombies.

Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this book. It didn't feel like all the other post apocalyptic stuff I've seen out there--which believe me is a good thing. A very good thing. The main character was very likable and found myself rooting for him and hoping he would get away.

I'm not going to spoil it, but let me just say that I'm happy he didn't portray all of the bad guys (the race) as bad. I appreciate it because when I figured out what was going on I became a little concerned!

I only have one teeny tiny criticism of the book and that's it ended sort of suddenly. I thought it could go on for another a few hours at least. Anyway, I'll read the next one for sure and I'd recommend you get this too if you're into the same books as I am!

Solid

I expected maybe a dumbed down apocalypse story since it followed kids but was pleasantly surprised that it was mature but still ok for a younger audience.

A good gripping tale

I received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I was actually quite surprised by this one, the story gripped me quite quickly as the narrator set the scene and then things started happening. Its a story that's very close to home considering the current climate and is current enough to include Trump and Kim Jong Un's little argument.

The characters are good and the story progresses well with a good sense of suspense at the right moments, the ending is a little abrupt rather than being a cliffhanger but it still leaves it all open nicely for book 2.

Narration was good, the narrator showed good emotion and did some good voices for the characters and his tone fit the story well.

Enjoyed this one.
