Publisher's summary

On January 18th 1989, Don Piper died in a car accident. Ninety minutes later, after a preacher prayed over him, Piper came back to life with an extraordinary story. He'd been to heaven. So began the phenomenon of 90 Minutes in Heaven.

Now, for the millions who look to him for inspiration, Piper offers the hope that, if he could survive his ordeal after the accident, others can survive whatever life circumstances they're going through - and grow in God's love through the experience. For Piper, heaven is a certainty and so is God's grace. Relying on that assurance, believers can transform pain into purpose and troubles into blessings, finding joy in life even when life turns out not to be what they expected.

Not What I Thought

This is for someone new to spirituality or who has doubts. I wanted to hear details of his 90 minutes there. What he saw, what he heard, what he did. This is counseling for those who are in need.

an awakeniong

I really enjoyed this book. He gave credit to all the people in his life and told how they had helped him "recover" from his "death". He distinguished his experience from the NDE, "near death experience". The book was well written in that it had a good flow from beginning to end. It didn't leave us dangling with questions. He tried to answer all the questions and told us how his life had changed.

Convert this

"Heaven is Real", a catchy phrase, but just another hook for an author who is full of himself. Spreading the good word is good, but when it is the ONLY way, an exclusive club is formed. The intro sounds good, but that is the only good part I found, the rest is conversion to what Don and Cecil preach.

Heaven is Real

This book is a book that you could give to someone who is dying or loves someone who is dying. I think it could give deep peace to one who is ill and is terminal and is a Christian. This author has, due to a car accident, clinically died and spent 90 Minutes in heaven before returning to life here on earth. I have approched reading this backward, I really want to read the 1st book about his time in heaven.

Disappointing

I thought that the author would discuss his experience, but he did not at all. There was the assumption that apparently a prior book was read. This was not the case.

Horrid

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

People who are interested in the life of Don Piper maybe, the book is more about how proud the author is of himself then anything else.

What could Don Piper and Cecil Murphey have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Actually tell the reader why he believed heaven is real, and write less about how much money he has made, and how many opportunities he has been given since writing his first book.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The narrator was actually great.

What character would you cut from Heaven Is Real?

The author?

Any additional comments?

I have read seven other books about near death experiences, and thought this book would be like them. I was disappointed when I found this book to be little more than a lengthy ego trip.

Very Interesting

I found this book to be very interesting. Even though I wanted to hear about all his recovery(which I read in 90 Minutes in Heaven) and his experiences with all the other people, I really wanted to hear more about his 90 minutes in Heaven. I just wish he had described it in more detail. Other than that, I think it is a great book for all to read or listen to.

Love love love it!

This, as well as 90 Minutes in Heaven, are simply AMAZING non-fictional testimonials for our Lord Jesus. Great job!!!
