Publisher's summary

A flicker of light almost appears at the end of the tunnel for prisoner FF8282, as he is transferred to North Sea Camp near Boston, Lincolnshire, a D-category prison. Under a less strict regime, the prisoners can enjoy a more relaxed set of rules, while slowly preparing to someday rejoin the world outside the walls. However, a minor breach of conditions gets him sent off to the notorious HMP Lincoln facility for twenty-two days, where more traumatic experiences await.

Heaven is the third book in Jeffrey Archer’s bestselling series The Prison Diaries. In this final volume Archer reflects on his time spent in prison, leading up to his release on parole in July 2003.

An eye-opening insight into prison life, exploring the humanity to be found behind bars, while simultaneously highlighting a system failing society as a whole and as individuals, where inmates leave worse off and more dangerous than when they first entered.

Jeffrey Archer is a bestselling British author and former politician. He was educated at Oxford and went on to become a Member of Parliament, the deputy chair of the Conservative Party as well as sitting in the House of Lords. His political career ended in scandal and he turned to writing and he has been published in over 275 million copies worldwide.

He is perhaps most famous for the Clifton Chronicles and his blockbuster Kane and Abel which was number one on the New York Time's Bestseller list and inspired a popular miniseries starring Peter Strauss and Sam Neill.

After he was imprisoned for perjury in 2001, he wrote his highly acclaimed non-fiction series, Prison Diaries - Hell, Purgatory and Heaven - which were inspired by his experiences and loosely structured around Dante's Divine Comedy.

5 Stars to the Author; 10 to the Narrator

Such a pleasure to listen to a master storyteller being read by a master narrator. Only this tandem could make the humdrum days of prison compelling listening. Highly recommend.

"Justice, what?"

Brilliant work again from Jeffery.

Isaiah 59 v 14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.

Ecclesiastes 5 v 8 If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.

A nation that brought forth The King James Bible of which 95% was Tyndale’s work, who for his trouble was strangled and his body burnt at the stake are a hypocritical nation. Justice stands afar off.

Isaiah 9 v 6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Brilliant

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading these Prison Diaries by Jeffrey Archer. Sometimes shocking at his treatment by the Home Office. I was also surprised how well he was treated by his fellow inmates and this showed how respected he was. These diaries has opened my eyes to prison life and hope I never end up being locked.

A wonderful trilogy

This series was informative, interesting and compelling.
While I sympathise with the hard working staff, who are apparently running on fumes, the ridiculous bureaucracy of the prison system is hard to believe in this day and age.

Fantastic

Talented narrator for a brilliant author. An easy read and so enlightening about the legal system and its flaws. How he rose above such a traumatic ordeal is incredible. Respect.

An incredible trilogy of prison life

This incredible insight into prison life from an intelligent well versed gentleman, who highlighted a well needed change in our prison system, and pray that the 3 issues highlighted at the end of this book have been addressed, albeit i somewhat doubt it, because in 2021 our prisons seem to be worse. Also the blatant lies from our press, no wonder that normal people now have little time for the lies that splash over our daily tabloids. An excellent narration has also to be acknowledge. I will now look forward to choosing my first Lord Archer novel.

The story of Jeffrey Archer, and the trials and tribulations of prison life of a rich man

Let me first start by saying, I’m not a reader of Jeffrey archers, novels. I listen to books driving to and from work, so three hours a day. I enjoyed all three books, a real insight into prison life of a prisoner, or con I am sure Jeffrey would not like that phrase anyway, highly recommended give it a go don’t let his reputation and personality spoil your enjoyment of this book. Loved it so much then had to purchase the other two books in the series. Love every book.

An Education

Jeffrey Archer, thank you for sharing this and exposing your time with such a feeling of intimacy for me and I’m certain others. You have helped me personally by illuminating the experience of a friend of mine which he never shared of his time on a similar journey as yours. Thank you.

Worth the read

Well put together as were the previous 2 instalments .
But you really need to read these in order .
Archer at the lowest point in his recounts his time in prison with humour and sensitivity .
A different insight to Lord Archer , and one which I found quite endearing .
Well worth the Download of all 3 parts of this trilogy , and one of the not so many stories I will revisit and enjoy over again .
