And when her father sends spies to force her loyalty, everything Edie values is at risk.

Time in a Nazi POW camp changed army medic Beau Daniels. When he discovers a letter of Edie's written in German, he can't help his suspicions. Is she truly the woman he's started to love? Or has she been the enemy all along? With Nazis on Edie's trail, the pair must fight for truth, for survival—and for love.

Well written story

The narrator did an excellent job narrating. Puts a whole new perspective on how those of color were treated during the war. Would definitely recommend.

Real and Believeable

This was a very good book! I've not been familiar with this author until I read this story and will be looking forward to reading more of her work. The characters are wonderful and the reader will love them all. The story has ups and downs that are very realistic and gives insight into what life involved during WWII, especially for the American Germans. If you love to read, don't miss this one.

The narration was performed with emotion, portrays each character skillfully, and draws the listener into the story from the very beginning.

I requested this audiobook from the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Interesting stateside WWII history

I found this book interesting not only because it talked about the county that I reside, but it dealt with different issues not talked about in many of the WWII romance fiction books. The polio epidemic, racial tension and the prisoner camps in Georgia expanded my knowledge of life in 1940s Marietta GA. I would have enjoyed it more if the book was a bit longer so it could have dealt with the topics a bit more fully. Overall I consider this book a worthy listen/read.
