Publisher's summary

Meet Ashton Ford...psychic detective....

Private investigator Ashton Ford has special powers - powers that some call supernatural. A former naval intelligence officer who is highly knowledgeable in cryptology and philosophy, Ford will shatter your ideas of reality and take you into a mystical world of vision, intuition, and psychic truth. A phenomenal psychic, an unparalleled lover, and a true Renaissance man, Ashton Ford can see into the future and even into the distant past using his psychic powers to assist special clients who are in crisis.

Don Pendleton's fifth novel of the Ashton Ford, Psychic Detective series, Heart to Heart, is an adventure that Ashton Ford never intended to share because it involves the tender depths of his own heart. It all started with the sudden appearance of a gentleman reported to have died over 150 years ago and a mind-blowing mystery high above the sea in Laguna Beach, California. There, in a magnificent mansion, Ford finds himself surrounded by luxurious comfort and the flesh-and-blood ghosts of people from the past.

Ford's keen and awesome talents must now pierce the secret of the mansion while his heart, at the mercy of an ageless and beautiful sculptress, follows a dangerous path of its own. Ford's beliefs about reincarnation and reality will never be the same as he sees into the past - and sometimes into your heart as well as his own.

Book 5 get 5 stars!

I know Don Pendleton from Roulette: The Search for the Sunrise Killer, that was BORING! Here he is alone without Linda Pendleton, and gets 5 stars! So maybe Linda Pendleton was the problem? Well, enough about that. Heart to Heart: Ashton Ford, Psychic Detective, Book 5 is a really good book. i have nothing to say almost other then i loved it! Without talking about what this book is about, i must say that Psychic Detectives made me a bit nervous, i really don't like Psychics, so i was not positive about this book. Don Pendleton turned that around for me i must say, and i am happy i was wrong!

I know James Foster from Occult Assassin #1: Damnation Code. He reads that as a pro, and he does the same here. The right pace, volume, and amount of voices! What more can you wish for? 6 hrs and 1 min with James Foster feels just right and i feel never left alone when he reads to me! James Foster i simply said is a more less perfect narrator!

A Bad Acid Trip

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Some one who is into new age woo woo, the occult, angels, the netherworld, alternate planes of existence, esoteric and metaphysical topics and so forth.

Has Heart to Heart turned you off from other books in this genre?

No not exactly as long as the book isn't inundated with copious amounts of new age woo woo.

Have you listened to any of James Foster’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is his first performance. He was a fine narrator.

What character would you cut from Heart to Heart?

I wouldn't cut any of the characters.

Any additional comments?

I felt like my brain was pithed when I finished this book. Some one would of needed to be tripping to get into this book. I thought the book was going to be a mystery with a PI who had a psychic ability. Nope that is definitely not what this book is about. Yes there is a PI with a psychic ability, but the story and the psychic PI's role is not that of a conventional mystery novel in any way.
