Publisher's summary

The highly anticipated conclusion to the epic and exciting Kingmaker Chronicles series

The destiny Catalia "Cat" Fisa has spent her entire life running from has finally caught up to her. But in order to truly accept her fate and become Queen of Thalyria, Cat and her dedicated husband Griffin Sinta will have to go to war with the severely oppressed Fisa - and it's violent alpha, Cat's homicidal mother.

But when Cat's magic refuses to work like it should, she has to unleash the power she's been afraid of. And when her misuse of the god's gifts lands her in Tartarus, a land reserved for eternal punishment, Cat will have to accept herself - past, present, and future - if she wants any chance of making it out alive.

Good ending

This last book was not what I expected—and that’s a good thing. It was so much better!

Great new (to me) trilogy

I read a lot of fantasy, so I spend a fair amount of time hunting for new books and/or authors. Most of the time I'm sorting through new lists of the same books I've either read or rejected before. Imagine my delight at finding someone who not only writes well and knows how to plot a story but does it while weaving bits of the Greek pantheon throughout. Although this story takes a trilogy to tell. it does not trip my 'cliffhanger' reject alarm. I'll be looking for additional books by this author.

Story was gripping

Narrator was great. It is worth the credits to follow this series if you love the mythological theories and stories. I found it exciting and tearful as well as a love story that has other love stories within it.

I made it!

I struggled to finish this book and will never read or listen to this author again. The heroine was "everything is my fault" character and the hero is almost nonexistent in this book. If the heroine had practiced her magic, most of the tragedies would have never happened. That was so frustrating.

Incomplete Ending

I really enjoyed this series, but the ending was extremely disappointing. There are so many unanswered questions, and maybe it's just me, but these cliff hangers that'll never be answered kind of ruined the whole series for me.

The BEST!

The best one was the last one(sort of) this book was shorter than the rest but no less as impactful and amazing! There was so much action, suspense, sorrow and even some laughter. CT’s journey in all two books prior have been all leading up to her coming into herself in this one, and boy does she! The character growth of her and even Griffin were amazing to watch and the struggles and loss they go through just to accomplish peace and still have hope of a better future was remarkable. This series is one of the best Greek Mythology series I have read in a very long time. Amanda Bouchet has earned herself an avid new reader!

#3 is better than #2

book 3 is about Cat coming into her person, power and dealing with her traumatic past.
it was a necessary evolution in the series. At time I felt her inner monolog was a bit wordy and frivolous. her normal sarcastic wit is muted some, possibly the authors way of showing healing. but I missed it!

I'm not going to lie, I skipped over the sex scenes. they're poorly written, poorly timed and repetitive. it was my biggest pet peeve in book 2, and skipping them in book 3 made the book more interesting and flow much better.

we met several new characters at the end of book 2. unfortunately, we don't learn much more about them as this book is about Cat.
no spoilers! I will say I like the way the author ended the book & how she resolved Cat and Andromedas fued.

narration: men's parts sucked, and I often had to rewind or pay harder attention to hear which character was supposed to be talking. they were Inconsistent. and suddenly Griffin sounds like Winnie the Pooh smh. 3 stars is generous for narration.

What happened to everyone?

She needed another two chapters. It’s rude not to include beta team at the end. Loose strings everywhere!!!

By the time I got to this book, I think the dynamic relationship of Cat and Griffin sort of diminished compared to how I read them from book 1. The interest for me has also gone down while reading this book. It was just ok. The first book was my favorite.
