When Jon Gabriel's life took an unexpected turn, he suddenly was awakened to the marvelous gift that he had been given - the opportunity to live - and was disgusted at how he had treated his body. Kooky and Irresponsible

What would have made The Gabriel Method better?

I bought this because I was interested in meditation for weight loss, and still am. The book starts out with interesting ideas and I had an open mind so I just flowed over the references to "past lives" and the supernatural. But, I gave up and stopped listening when the author began advocating skipping vaccinations because they are "toxic." Really? Anti-vaccinations? This books seems beyond new-age, it is anti-science.

Amazing approach

I've been eating less, not wanting at all to continue eating beyond my body's feeling full or comfortable (no willpower involved- just doing what I want to do.) although this approach helps working through underlying circumstances leading to what's activating your fat programs (as Jon Gabriel calls it), merely being aware of what's occurring physiologically, using visualizations, including the night time weight loss audio from the website, I'm losing weight and feeling more alive. I have not spent the time yet to take full use of the program, but it's working even preliminarily with the eye opening knowledge, actively trying to turn on fat burning, taking advantage of "smart mode" and using visualizations. I have no financial gain from this review. I've listened to at least 50 audiobooks here and I think this is my second review. Hope it's helpful.

Changed my brain

It is kind of weird at first to listen to considering it is a book on losing weight. But all the mind stuff in the psychological stuff that he talks about actually is true and does make sense towards the end. I feel like my brain and my taste buds are changing, everything is. Mind you, I was already down this path, but this just confirmed and further explain a lot of stuff for me. I love his no diet approach to losing weight, which is very liberating, and very effective. For that reason I give it five stars.

Informative!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Gabriel Method to be better than the print version?

I LOVE the audio version of this-I feel like he's talking lovingly to me.

What did you like best about this story?

How the author got to even knowing this info was something that I liked a lot. I love learning about emotional energy in our physical bodies. It's really something to learn more about for anyone!

Life Changing

I LOVED This book. John Gabriel has become an everyday part of my life. I have the app and have been listening to the visualizations daily. His story is amazing. I crave life-force foods now, and I don't beat myself up for anything anymore.

skip the book, listen to the appendix

This was such a struggle to finish. The chapter on his cat losing weight because it was chased by the neighbors dog was more than a stretch for the concept. There are good parts here with really good information but it could be covered in less than half the time.

Hokey garbage

This book is terrible and was a huge waste of my precious driving and audiobook time. I tried to keep an open mind but the discussion of past lives and bs visualization techniques like watching fat swirl away through your belly button were just too much. The book is also random AF. Gabriel says it's not a diet book, not a diet book, not a diet book, eat-what-you-want-when-you-want, this is not a diet book. He spends countless chapters talking about our fat programs and then describes visualization techniques followed by a lot of info on what kinds of nutritional proteins, fats and carbs to eat. It takes a lot for me not to finish a book but this was not worth another hour and a half. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because 1) the diet info was solid and 2) I didn't finish it completely.
