**I was given a free copy of this by the narrator for an honest review**<br/><br/>This book gives you great info on the low carb lifestyle with some delicious recipes that I must try! I love to cook! I like the info in this book about the low carb diet in general....although I do not agree with going low carb as a diet choice for everyone...I do enjoy a healthy recipe...and these recipes use lots of spices and are quick to prepare...I will have to take notes on a re-listen where certain recipes are so I can easily relocate them....but I very much enjoyed the info in this book...and the narration was pleasant and clear! Good Cook Book!!!!

<br/>Why would anyone put a cookbook on audio? That is the question I asked myself when I agreed to listen to this book in exchange for a review. Good idea or bad, the jury is still out...<br/><br/>The Painless Low-Carb recipes is actually a tool to assist in those who are participating in the Atkins diet.<br/><br/>There are several recipes that I may go back and write down to try in the future. It is unfortunate that the audiobook did not have some sort of reference system to quickly refer to each of the 50 foods/recipe.<br/><br/>I think reading a cookbook is akin to reading the phone book. This book has some delicious recipes for low carb healthy eating. First it explains lots of healthy foods one can incorporate into their diet such as legumes, and more fruits and veggies, It then suggests foods you should try to avoid such as white sugar and white breads. It's divided into sections A: Induction, B: Ongoing Weight Loss, C: Pre-Maintenance, and D: Lifetime Maintenance with recipes for each phase. And a list of foods that are allowed and aren't allowed.
It includes 50 low carb and low calorie recipes for each phase. The recipes sound super good. Recipes for cheesy veggie omelet, cinnamon waffles, sauteed garlicky chicken, tomato soup with basil, tangy sorbet, crispy chicken nuggets, beef and mushroom stir-fry, roasted rosemary beef, spicy zucchini chips, kale, apple, and ginger smoothie and many more.
I plan to try these so I'll definitely be listening to this book again. This is a wonderful way to eat healthy. Overall, I'd recommend this book for the recipes alone. Can't go wrong. Phillip Pablo did a great job putting these together. It's for the lazy and busy in all of us because the recipes are quick and easy. Always consult with your physician before undertaking a new diet.
Charles Orlik does a great job reading this audiobook. I like his work. He's easy to understand and he makes the recipes sound easy to follow. He stays consistent throughout the book making this a handy audiobook to have with you while in the kitchen.
