Not a true IF guidebook, certainly not "Complete"

This book provides recipes and suggestions for a low calorie diet rather than true IF. In order for you to get the benefits related to IF, it has been shown that you need to truly fast (eat essentially 0 calories during your fasting window). If fact the studies mentioned by the author did exactly that...restricted all feeding during a set window. The diet mentioned here does works because it reduces calories. But the benefits of IF and insulin sensitivity, based on studies, will not be obtained for the long term by doing this diet. Also another point is that the author says to avoid refined carbs which is true. But in many of the recipes there is sugar added. This is in many ways worse. The insulin spikes from this alone are huge. Dr. Jason Fung's book on Obesity is a great reference for fasting. I was really hoping that this book provided more information on IF for me, especially given the review, but it's not a true guide for the IF lifestyle.

RECIPES WAY OFF IN MEASUREMENTS

numerous recipes called for 'one quarter cup salt'... pretty sure either the guy reading read wrong or no one tested these recipes. One egg with a quarter cup salt sounds pretty off to me.

The ultimate intermittent fasting guide!

What will separate this book from other intermittent guides is how it first tries to establish the correct mindset of the reader. It helps the reader understand goal setting and how the most important part is psychology before the mechanics. It does a great job of explaining what intermittent fasting is, how to build muscle while intermittent fasting, and also supplies an exercise plan! Please do yourself a favour and buy this book.

nothing beats this book

This book flows nicely from topic to topic and answered all of my questions that many of you will have. It covers common myths and the science behind it. It covers simple macro mathematics to guide you on your meals for the day based on the end goal you have.

Great guide and very informative

My former gym instructor mentioned the IIFYM diet to me and so I got this to investigate and learn more. After reading this I have come to the conclusion that this diet and me are made for each other. A diet where I can eat whatever I want but remain healthy and shed the pounds? Sign me up right now! Show this book to whoever tells you that you have to stick to bland, boring food when on a diet and change the way they think!

a meal plan that can work for me

What I learned from this book is the balance of macronutrient balance across every meal. There are tables with meal plans that clearly show the differences of having balanced and imbalanced food consumption. There is so much to be gained just by reading the tips by the author here. With practice, I can eventually find a meal plan that can work for my body.

Book Well Done! Easy to grasp and understand the Keto Diet and Intermittent Fasting. Andrew Johnson clearly explains the multitude of benefits of taking on this lifestyle of nutrition for optimal health and natural healing, and in the process you get to lose weight and look good too. What could be better?

Some parts tend to get repetitive, particularly citations of research, although this is a function of how the author structured the book in terms of specific health issues or conditions. I particularly find his personal plan quite informative and helpful in thinking about what IF approach would work best for me.
