Useless and redundantly boring and pedantic

There is no helpful information on the disorder to actually learn about it and/or do anything about a food addiction. The topic is covered in a general way with none of the scientific, scholarly or psychological information I hoped to learn. It felt more like listening to a droning general review of what the issue is and why it occurs. It was grueling to listen to and I kept waiting for something helpful but there is nothing to learn here or no advise to be culled from the long winded diatribe …she even says point blank ‘I can’t give advice.’ Then she patronizingly explains that one can ‘go to a therapist, go to support meetings’ or ‘learn about cognitive behavioral modification’. All good starting topics IF she then expounded in a detailed manner on these modalities but she didn’t and worse there was absolutely zero mentioned in later chapters or any references given. Be prepared to hear diet tips everyone already knows about eating too much sugar and how that is a part of it but that’s as far as she goes. And she explains why people eat too much (depression, boredom, bad day) but that is common sense stuff and it stops there. I decided to listen to her other more specific topic books on Night Eating and another I couldn’t even get through just to see if this was the running theme on this writer. Sadly, is the case with all of her books. General info that is redundant and pedantic. I’m very disappointed.
