Really Good Information

Enjoyed listening to it (didn't think I would). The information really 'clicked' in my head and am walking away feeling more knowledgeable about nutrition. I don't know, maybe this time I was ready to 'hear' it. I am annoyed that the recipes are not included and maybe Audible should mention that in the description. I'm a foodie and I probably would have bought the book instead of the audio version because of it. I emailed Dr. Fuhrmans' website stating I bought the audio book from this site and if they had a link to the recipes. Nope. Bummer. You have to become a member and pay a monthly fee for access.... not. I guess if I search the WWW I'll find something (or I guess I'll buy the darn book) :o). Nonetheless... This audio book is great. Recommended.

Comprehensive and Clear

As a whole-food, plant-based (WFPB) eater training to become an RD, I'm always looking for great resources to suggest to the people who come to me looking for dietary advice. Eat to Live was referenced in many of the books I'd read, so I decided to pick it up, and I'm glad I did. If you're looking for one book to highlight to benefits of a "nutritarian" diet, then I'd highly recommend it. I'd put this book right up there with Dr. Michael Greger's How Not to Die and the Idiot's Guide to Plant-Based Nutrition, 2E by Julieanna Hever and Raymond J. Cronise. It's brilliantly simple, comprehensive, and loaded with excellent resources, all presented in plain English.

If you are all in!

Clearly a better way to live and eat, for long-term health. In the beginning of the book the author says, "There is no try." Halfhearted effort will not do. If you have a high level of discipline or motivation, and want to go all in, I highly recommended this audiobook.

Works for me.

Best nutrition book I've ever read!

I can't say enough good about this book. It has changed how I think about food. I am an emotional eater, and thanks to this book I'm well on my way to overcoming this issue. I'm learning to love foods I never thought I would, and I'm slowly but surely changing over to the attitude that I'm "eating to live" versus "living to eat" like I used to do.

I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who wants to live their healthiest life!

Eye opening!

I love evidence based information. Dr. Furhman provides tons of scientific evidence to the information he provides about the diet. Even if you do not stick to the plan 100%, even small changes can be beneficial! Enjoyed it!

Excellent but not for whoever wants to be muscular

Would you listen to Eat to Live again? Why?

Yes, full of good tips and evidence-based information. Also will remind me to eat more vege

What did you like best about this story?

Research evidences are very comprehensively covered

Any additional comments?

I definitely would recommend it to anyone who is unhealthy and suffer chronic conditions and I am convinced this diet will work for them. However, I am a very healthy fitness enthusiast and the recommended amount of protein of 50g a day has simply been suggested by many high quality researches to be insufficient in order to have the body I would like to have. And I simply cannot eat that much vegetables a day to get the 120g of protein for body building.
I would say if you are perfectly healthy and want to look like a fitness model, skip the book because it will not help you to achieve the dream body you want. And just eat as much as vegetables you can each day on top of your normal meat intake. This book proposed a very radical eating approach because it aims to restore health among people with those serious chronic cardiovascular diseases. If you want to be more cautious, replace some of your animal source of protein with plant based protein such as peas and beans.

Very Enlightening!

If you could sum up Eat to Live in three words, what would they be?

Logical Education on Nutrition

Any additional comments?

Very helpful education on Food and why we need to eat what what we need not what is marketed to us or what we thought we needed. I really like the comparison to other beings in Nature. Makes a lot of sense. The Nutrient Density formula and concept is an eye opener!
