Good for male

A healthy workout routine guide. Full body training styles and patterns disclosed in this book. Recommended for men. Good one to get started! There are basic exercises for legs, back, core, chest and shoulders. There is even a plan for combining all those exercises so you can build up the whole body. There are pictures of how to perform those exercises properly. I would recommend it for beginners.

Learning Calisthenic SKILLS

As far as their effectiveness, they are very effective and they build great strength and fitness without weights. I noticed a big difference in a week. I was already lifting weights and fit. I have stopped doing a lot of the old things I did because this was better. I feel much stronger and can see more satisfying results. I have actually cut my weight usage in half. The illustrations of the moves are priceless. If not for that, this book wouldn't be as effective.

This is the book you have searched for. You ...

This is the book you have searched for. You ever have some stranger or friend ask you "what do you bench"? Here's the answer "how in the hell am I suppose to know"! You are not trying out for the Chicago Bears, but trying to attain "functional fitness" your body alone will do it. You don't need a gym membership all you need are open spaces and focus. Thank you Andrew Johnson "Coach" Wade

Worth the buck I spent on it

As a owner of Convict Conditioning 1 and 2, I am much in love with Andrew Johnson approach to calisthenics training. While CC1 and 2 give you super practical advice on strength development this book certainly will help you to develop that explosiveness which in my opinion is very valuable for anyone who is interested in functional strength and power to improve their performance in all aspect of their sport or daily life.

New approach

Wasn't sure what to expect, coming from powerlifting background. Book inspired me to check out explosive calisthenics. Observations: These exercises and workouts are amazingly FUN- I look forward to them; My previously stalled bench and deadlift blew up, particularly the deadlift, where I'm much faster off the floor now; Take his advice about easing in and PARC- too fast to quick = sore.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Impressive! This is an excellent introduction to basic and intermediate level calisthenics. The book begins with an explanation of what calisthenics is or does and some fundamental advice on diet, preparation and warm-up which I would advise everyone to read. Indeed, this book is great for beginners or inexperienced people looking to get into exercise and bodyweight training for the first time
