Bigger, Leaner, Stronger-Broken down Barney style!

What made the experience of listening to Bigger Leaner Stronger the most enjoyable?

If you want a no BS fitness book, this is the one you have been looking for. Mike Matthews breaks everything down into simple form, and makes everything easy to understand. Whether you are a novice or an expert, I think you will take something from this book.

You need to check out this book If you value your time as much as I do, and don't want to waste countless hours over-training for little gain.

Not only is this book very simple to follow, but it's incredibly honest. The fitness industry is filled with people/companies trying to shove unnecessary products/services down our throats, and this book doesn't do ANY of that.

Moreover, Mike even goes above and beyond to point out things that we might have THOUGHT were legitimate, and are complete fallacies. If you're looking for a great fitness book, look no further.

Well written, full of detail, excellent!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, there's a lot of misinformation in the fitness community. This book breaks down the right approach in a scientific, yet easily readable, format. The author doesn't BS around, it's very straightforward and isn't sugar-coated...brass-tacks. Also, it's hard not to like Mike, he's charismatic and conversational.

Potentially life altering!

I'm getting on this program as soon as I finish my upcoming competition in 4 weeks. Can't wait to see the results!

Great information

I have yet to start Mike's workout routine, but this book has been very valuable to me. He states numerous facts about nutrition and training that I didn't know prior, while effectively backing them up with immense amounts of research. He also disproves many of the exercise and diet myths that I had heard and even believed with convincing evidence. This is, in my opinion, a great book for laymen like myself who have not done in-depth study into the world of strength training.

Don't sign up for this (2-5 spam emails a day)

This book was great, however after reading it I've been receiving wait lose emails 2/4 times a day. I'm confident in saying this guys book was the culprit because the email associated is newer and hasn't been entered anywhere. Save your self the frustration of spam and buy the paperback. I don't support any brand selling off their email list to marketers.

another happy and satisfied student

I'm 52 years of age and have managed to stay in pretty good shape mostly due to simple thinking and approach... This book is the Bible of fitness as far as I'm concerned... from A to Z, full of Vital Information... No Frills no gimmicks no shortcuts... The way it should be... totally satisfied and excited to continue with these teachings... Thanks so much

Excellent Book For Beginners

The only downside is that it's difficult to revisit a certain part of the book. Other than that, I highly recommend it to beginners and to experts as a reference.

Eye Opener

Mike gets back to basics, personally coming from a football background throughout high school and college emphasis was always put on heavy progressive compound lifting.

After stepping away from sports I began lifting and was stuck in the "bro cycle". My body had changed in a great way with the introduction of high rep pump workouts because I had built up a base from football. However results soon plateaued and I listened to the likes of youtube fitness stars and changed my exercises frequently to shock the muscles and worked different rep ranges.

I soon "peaked" and was continuing to make little to no changes in years to come and thought that this was just paying my dues and the process would be agonizingly slow.

We are fed lies from the fitness industry plain and simple. Once I listened to this book and snapped out of the broscience I got back to basics and after tracking my results both strength and nutrition in just a short 5 week period I've seen enormous changes compared to the slow progression under lightweight pump workouts.

My weights have gone up, most importantly major muscle groups are growing faster than when I first started during my "newbie gains" period back years ago. I think this new growth rate is credit to both having a vastly higher knowledge of excersise form and nutrition etc then when I first started back in high school but most importantly the philosophy mike preaches. Regardless the point stands.... muscles are reacting better then I remember them reacting when I first began years ago.

If you are a natural lifter this book is the gospel plain and simple. There is no if and's or but's. Regardless of if your brand new or a few years in from related experience be it sports or broscience. Give this book a read and you won't regret it.
