Kristen Proby has a thing with Mafia Romance!

Hang on tight, because Headhunter will keep you on the edge from beginning to end! Also if you read Underboss you know this one is set up for intensity.

I am not sure who was carrying more secrets. The wickedly sexy Shane Martinelli or beautifully sweet Ivie Johnson. One ran away from a past that is now catching up with her and the other holds so many secrets that the average man would break. Shane and Ivie have mastered the dance of flirting with one another. Now at that life or death situation Shane steps in to protect Ivie. As the danger brews so does the attraction. The passion becomes as intense as the danger.


Headhunter is a fast paced, intense yet intimate story of danger and romance. There’s something Maria stories that intrigue me. To find out there is a sub genre in romance, excitement is an understatement. Kristen Proby hits it out of the park on so many levels. The danger is on point. The family ties and rivalries are intense and intriguing. The romance is as dangerous as the danger. The narration of this story gave me chills in all the right way. Ms. Probly’s story very much walked off the pages with narrators Lee Samuels and Kristen Leigh.

Nailed it as always!

I love how Kristen puts excitement in but doesn’t take away from the romance that’s happening. I could not stop once I started I was hooked till the very end and I’m ready for the next one!! I love how important she makes family and how protective she makes her men they always put their ladies first!! I just love the heart of it all!!

Everything I Love

This book had all the things I like in a book: mystery, military-trained alpha, action, and obviously, a stubborn heroine. Couple this with Kristen’s signature romance, and you’ve got a beautiful mafia story. I loved it and can’t wait for Off the Record.

Fast paced story and action scenes

This is book two in the With Me in Seattle Mafia series and it is fast paced, action packed, and a “get to the point” sort of romantic suspense. There's not a lot of build up to the relationship or even the first initial scene, so get ready to rumble! While it is light on the mafia, the action scenes were high octane and some of my favorites of the book.

While Headhunter is book two, it can totally be read as a standalone. If you've read Underboss (book 1), this book picks up right where the epilogue left off in that one. It was a seamless transition from that book to the beginning of this one. We get a little background who Ivie is and perhaps why she has been taken. We also finally learn a little bit of who Shane Martinelli is and what he is doing on his huge property with a fortress that no one should be able to breach.

Shane leads a life where part of it is kept secret, but when you see him fight and do his job? Dang hot! What he does and how he protects his family and loved ones is legit. The more I got from him, the more I liked him. Ivie was a character that I wasn't sure about. But judging from her past, I knew she had to have some killer instincts in her and I could appreciate that. It took a little bit to get there, but when she trained with Shane with weapons and combat in addition to the computer knowledge, that's when she really sold me.

This isn't a slow build, but a fast paced book that gets right to the point and we get to see Shane and Ivie work together on why she was taken and who it was. I always hope for more build up and tension and it was definitely lacking here, but I still enjoyed their story and the action scenes. I also had the chance to read AND listen to the audio. The narrators were perfect for the characters and I couldn't help but like Ivie just a little bit more when listening to the book. She is more than what you see.

For a fast paced book and a fast paced relationship that is high on action and light on the actual mafia world, you've got the book. The characters are enjoyable, but I may have liked a few side characters even more and I hope we get to see them in the future. The last couple chapters were fun to see the girls together and their relationship. Bring on book 3! I can't wait to see what Rafe and Annika have in store for us.

Great read and listen

This was another wonderful read and addition to the With me in Seattle Mafia story. Loved getting to know Shane and Ivie and catching up with Carmine, Nadia, Annika and Rafe. Getting to see the workings of the mafia and family is great. Ivies background came back to find her and Shane helped her and you got to learn more about Shane and his background. they got to see if they had a future together. Kristen Proby never disappoints with a great story and I could not put this down. I can’t wait to read Rafe and Annika story.
Narration was wonderful. Great to listen too. Kristen Leigh and Lee Samuels were great and kept you interested
