Publisher's summary

Grant
Bailey Holman is exactly the sort of woman I avoid. She’s bubbly and free-spirited, the type all the men in my family have gone ga-ga over. They fall head over heels and forget all about their responsibilities to the family business.
Fools.
Well, I won’t tumble into that romantic quicksand, even when she’s forced to work at my family’s business for a year. I can be around her without losing my mind.
Um…right?

Bailey
Grant Matlin is a nice man. I’ve always liked him, even though I don’t know him all that well. But when my deceased grandfather finds a way to get us to work together for a year, I soon find myself falling hard for this level-headed, ultra-organized, gorgeous man.

Not a fan of virtual voice

The story was cute with none of the mild angst drawn out longer than necessary. However I nearly stopped listening at multiple times because of the narrator. There was a little to no expression in the voice which made it hard to follow who was speaking. Additionally, the AI seemed to either give way too long a pause or no pause throughout the story making transitions between the dual perspectives (female and male lead) and the flow of the story choppy. I suppose this can be expected because the narrator is a computer, but I probably will avoid this type of narration until they improve the tech behind it.

Couple of plot points, I didn't enjoy are: I truly disliked the brothers character. He hated the female lead for absolutely no reason and acted irrationally the majority of the story. I also found it incongruous that the male lead was supposed to be a smart businessman, but consistently made poor choices when it came to the family business. I think the author could have really enhanced the storyline by explaining even briefly why each of these characters were so entrenched in some of their behaviors.

Still, I'd pick up this author again and give them another chance. I think their work probably translates much better on the written page than it does with a virtual narrator.
