Publisher's Summary

Distracted by the everyday routine of raising children, being a wife, and keeping a home, Lorraine Morrissey let life pass her by. Her wake up call comes when she realizes that with their children gone, her husband Richard is rarely home, and she’s filling her solitary days with trivial tasks. A crazy idea to save her marriage leads to a summer beach vacation unlike any she’s ever taken - one that involves unknowingly buying a haunted house.

History & Mystery

I do wish the story was longer. It seemed a little rushed and would’ve loved to learn more of the history hinted at. Liked the spookiness.

Quick listen..

This was interesting but not my favorite of RE Hargrave’s writing. Raine and Ricks purchase of the home and all that happened was a short listen.

PennyMcPherson was good for the accent and time period of the story.

Great Read

Haunted Raine was a good quick read by R.E. Hargrave. Lorraine let her life pass her by too quickly when raising her children and trying to be a good wife. She realizes that her children are now gone and her husband is rarely home. Her days are filled with tasks that she doesn't care about. She decides to take a summer beach vacation to save her marriage. She didn't expect that it would include buying a haunted house. I enjoyed reading Lorraine's story and can't wait to read more by R.E. Hargrave.

Rekindling a flame with a twist

Married for so long, you fall into a routine. Same dull things everyday, until your kids are grown and gone. Then the parents either drift apart or find themselves again. Raine is desperately trying to reconnect with her husband and she thinks fixing up a house to flip is the answer. Little does she know, the house holds more than broken walls. I was hooked from the beginning of this story. I easily related to Raine's position and was intrigued on how she set out to remedy it. The supernatural twist really added to the suspense and drama of this story. This is more than two people having a second chance at romance, it is also two people solving problems they never knew were there.

Penny McPherson really grabbed my attention with her narration. I was engaged in the story from the beginning. It was easy to listen to her narration. She kept the characters distinct and easy to follow. Her performance enhanced the experience of this story. I look forward to hearing more from Penny McPherson.
