Publisher's summary

This audiobook is an eye-opening, monumental biography of Prince Harry by a veteran journalist on royal affairs who accompanied the prince on his royal duties for a year and was granted privileged access to his home in Kensington Palace.

Once a reckless rebel and now a respected role model, Prince Harry is one of the world's most popular royals and the force behind giving the British royal family a 21st-century makeover. How has he done it?

This insightful new biography is a three-dimensional look at what Harry is really like as a person, both on and off royal duty. It is written by distinguished journalist and author Angela Levin who accompanied Prince Harry on many of his engagements and had exclusive access to him at Kensington Palace.

The audiobook unwraps the real man behind the camera and his own perceptive insights. It delves into his troubled childhood and the lasting effect of losing his adored mother - Diana, Princess of Wales - so young. It explores his rebellious teenage years and the key defining moments that have enabled him to face his demons and use this experience to help others who struggle with mental, emotional, and physical pain.

Angela Levin found a complex man who has inherited his late mother's extraordinary charisma and is determined to "make a difference". After finding the love of his life in Meghan Markle, and in anticipation of their marriage this year, this is an investigation into the real life of Prince Harry.

Harry’s story in excruciating detail

After the Oprah interview, I thought it would be interesting to learn more about Prince Harry. This book has almost too much information told with a p.r. spin. Not particularly bright or accomplished yet forced to become a public figure by virtue of his birth, Harry has survived the horrendous and public death of his mother at 12 to become a decent human being who finally decided to grow up and ultimately found love and acceptance from his wife Meghan and baby son.

Much of the book details Harry’s thwarted ambitions stifled by his position in the ultimate bureaucracy, even though blessed with unparalleled entitlement and expectations. Not a lot of substance here when compared to the stories of self-made people who succeeded by their wits and hard work with life’s odds stacked against them. He seems to carry a mantle of victimhood which I just can’t get excited about.

Interesting- factual

As one who has not followed the Royals very closely, it was interesting to hear the specifics and factual story of what happened and when. It was nice to hear empathy and honesty in equal measure for all sides.

Interesting insight.

Great book. The only thing that seriously bothered me was when the narrator is the voice of any American, she gave the women a. New Yorker of Jersey’s like accent. It was super irritating.

it's like a summary of published news

there is nothing in this book you can't find online. nothing exclusive or really personal to the prince's point of view.

Harry

I enjoyed this book very much. It really got into the personality of Harry & Megan, and showed me what wonderful works they are doing both in their relationship and in their their royal lives. I had many doubts but this opened up my eyes.

Ok story.

Gave me the impression the author was trying to make the life of a Prince out to be so difficult. Aside from his struggle with depression, those were the only parts that didn’t remind me of someone who has had this handed to him.

There was lots of facts which I really appreciated but there was also alot of conjecture which I didn't like.

thought it involved more input from Harry

Journalist recounting Harry's life but not Harry's personal autobiography. Didn't really learn anything new you couldn't decipher just from reading all the press.

Good story, very bad American accent

The story line for this book was good and rang true with other accounts I’ve heard. The narrator was really good with the exception of the accent she used for Megan Markle. It made me cringe every time I heard it. It was a really bad mix of New Yorker and Bostonian…neither of which represent Megan. It would have been much better if she hadn’t tried to use an accent. Fortunately, while very distracting, it was only towards the end of the book. Otherwise, good audiobook.
