I have wanted to chat with Terry Shaughnessy, AKA Earth-o-Naut, for several months. It was great to have a chat with him, particularly as his album This is Nowhere. This is Everywhere comes out at the end of May.

Earth-o-Naut is also in the running for one of the prized Jazz FM awards. We also discussed our mutual friends and influences, especially across British jazz, including Adrian Cox, who I interviewed in 2025.

Joakim Milder has been the artistic director of the Norrbotten Big Band since 2013 and I’m looking forward to hearing the band play live at the opening concert of the Jazzahead! music festival in April. It was good to chat with him about his own musical background and also the collaborations that make the Norrbotten Big Band such an exciting ensemble.
