Publisher's summary

When an ex-Delta Forces operative dies in a car wreck in Miami, the FBI dismiss it as a tragic accident. But Jon Reznick isn't so sure—especially when he learns that his teetotal former colleague was apparently drunk at the wheel.

Reznick's one-man investigation quickly enters dangerous territory when it becomes clear that this was merely the first in a series of mysterious deaths. All of the victims are ex-Delta Forces, and all were involved in a top-secret Iranian hit under Reznick's command. Retribution will not be complete until Reznick is wiped out too.

With Iran's ruthless Quds Force hunting him down on US soil, assisted by a powerful Mexican drug cartel determined to increase its own foothold in the country, Reznick's survival is a threat to national security. FBI Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein is not as keen as some government officials to sacrifice him as collateral damage, but the longer Reznick runs, the more audacious his enemies become. Innocent American lives are at risk, and only Reznick's victory—or surrender—can save them.

Never a dull moment with Jon Reznick!

Would you listen to Hard Wired again? Why?

Maybe if I had nothing else to listen to and wanted something fast and fun!

Which scene was your favorite?

If I said it would give away that part of the book. I never could figure out why this question was asked.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this series. I listened to all four consecutively and HIGHLY RECOMMEND them when you are looking for a fast exciting book with likable characters. In this book someone is killing off the members of Reznick's former Delta team. He's also on the list. When he's taken into custody by the American military he realizes at the last minute that they are not trying to protect him, but instead are willing to betray him for the greater cause.
Jeffrey Kafer does an excellent job narrating.

Jon Reznick cheats death...again!

J. B. Turner's Jon Reznick series excels at action and suspense. Hard Wired is Book 3 od what is a three novel series so far. Reznick continues to achieve the near impossible, but not without injury and near death. FBI Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein is again a primary character in this novel that is about Iran attempting to kill the entire Delta Force team (including Reznick) that entered Iran to assassinate a scientist years ago. Iran has the active support of some key employees of the CIA. As in the prior to novels narration by Jeffrey Kafer is outstanding.

These novels are not great literature, but they do keep the attention of the listener.

Another good read and listen..

So, I think this was my favorite so far. This one showed that Jon Reznick wasn’t invincible. He did get all the bad guys but was shot in the back in the process. It was about the 6 Delta Force guys that killed a scientist 6 year before and Iran wanted revenge. Reznick was the only one of the six to survive, just barely.

As always, there was a lot of chases and killing. And again he worked with Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein. They do make a good team, even if she wants everything done by the book and Reznick threw the book away a long time ago.

There was no sex but I get the feeling there’s romantic feelings between Martha and Jon.

And the F-bomb was used 52 times.

As to the narration: Still Jeffrey Kafer does good voices for the men but the women speak kind of low. It’s okay as long as there’s no sex. Then it would sound like two men. LOL

How the story flows.

Like how it matches with the previous story and all the characters involved in the story

LoveJon Reznick :)

So regret that this is my last J. B. Turner novel. Love his character development and that fact that, for a thriller, I am surprised to Always find more than one character about whom I care and have looked forward to meeting again in future Jon Reznick stories. BUT, I simply can no longer get past the Constant G—D—- and J—— C——- which Turner inserts into every other character utterance. It is customary to find such tricks exercised by authors who possess limited creative writing ability to express character emotion. This is Not a problem for J. B. Turner, so I assume he simply enjoys having his characters utter these phrases which are viewed as blasphemies by his Christian fans. As a thrice-married NON-Evangelical Christian who has had two military husbands, one of whom was a Navy fighter pilot, I am able to report reliably that Navy SEAL and both Navy AND Air Force pilots enthusiastically hold forth with every sort of F-bomb and (actually rather hilariously creative) cussing, but Not with Turner’s frequency of JC!!! and GD!!! It’s just too much. I’ll miss Jon, his darling daughter, Meyerstein, and all of Turner’s other enchanting characters and Great storylines.

Excess Profanity but good story

i really like the storyline, and definitely the characters. but it feels like with each book, there's more and more cussing... which i don't need, in fact sometimes it's distracting. I'm almost ready to stop the series and move on. wish i could get an edited version. then it would be awesome.

plot

good plot and twists. a little predictable but good action. the protagonist comes of a little too much providio or maybe it's just that in the narration.

Reznick against all odds including spineless politicians and intelligence agencies retaliates for his brothers in arms. Great story.

Good character

It had just short of story. I would to have seen it go south of the border.
