Publisher's summary

He's a Wall Street wolf. She's been hired to tame him.

From New York Times best-selling author Lauren Layne comes a wildly sexy novel of business and pleasure.

Twenty-eight and filthy rich, Matt Cannon is the youngest broker on Wall Street. He may be a "boy wonder", but he's every inch a man. Ask any woman-any night. But when Matt's latest fling makes scandalous headlines, his clients get anxious, and his bosses at Wolfe Investments level an ultimatum: Keep his assets zipped, get a "real" girlfriend, and clean up his act. Only one woman can help Matt with something this hard.

For PR genius Sabrina Cross, the best fixer in Manhattan, playing Matt's steady is going to be a challenge, even if it's just for show. They already have an explosive history, she can't stand the cocky party boy, and worse - she can't stop thinking about him. So who will dare to break her "no touching" rule first? Because when that happens, Matt and Sabrina's game of let's pretend will get so hot it could set both their reputations on fire.

So Much Better Than Book One!

This is the second book in the series and it’s ten times better than the first, imo. I wouldn’t have even given it a chance if it wasn’t included with my audible membership...but I’m so glad I did! I enjoyed the push and pull between Sabrina and Matt and watching them come to terms with their true feelings. The narration is also exceptional! Great listen...definitely recommend!

The story is good Zachary Webber is perfect and if you speed up the female narrator's part it is more enjoyable

Samantha Under- Cook -ed

Loving the series! But for some reason Samantha read the heroine like she was Siri. The other voices she did were different. They had personality!

Female narrator ruined it

This was actually a well written story, but the female narrator really took me out of it. Her reading is stilted and lifeless. Without her this book would have been very good.

This story was perfect

Samantha Cook and Zackary Webber are the best. Matt was a millionaire playboy wall street phenom. Sabrina was a strong-willed independent fixer, kind of like Olivia Pope of Scandal. They were perfect for each other and had been frenemies with benefits for the last couple of years. Both had marriage phobia/commitment issues because of their backgrounds.
Matt got into some trouble that required a fixer and hired Sabrina because he didn't want any women that could possibly fall in love with him. Well needless to say in the end this presented a problem for everyone. It was fun and interesting to see how they got around the situation and I loved it

I don’t usually write reviews...

But I’m writing one this time to explain why I only gave the performance 4 stars. Zachary Webber is 5 stars, as usual, but Samantha Cook’s voice didn’t work for me at all and was very distracting. I’m sorry to sound so harsh but the narrator can make or break a story and I had a hard time listening when it was her turn.

Perfect for Each Other

The frenemies to lovers sparks really fly in this one! Zachary Webber and Samantha Cook were wonderful again, though it was a little weird since they voiced Ian and Lara last time.

I loved seeing Matt and Sabrina *finally* get out of their own way and find happiness. Their banter and chemistry were so good and I loved the second chance-ish feel of their romance. Things were going pretty well until the third act break up. It really bothered me that Sabrina laid it all on the line and told the truth, but Matt was just too dumb and scared to do the same. I really needed a lot more grovel after that. The epilogue was sweet though and I’m pretty much dying for Kate and Kennedy now!

So-so

Samantha Cook is painful to listen to. Not natural at all. Sounds very forced especially the emotional or sexy parts and her male voice is terrible. Zachary Webber has a great voice.

Snarky and sexy

This book is the second in the 21 Wall Street series after Hot Asset. This story is of two tropes, enemies to lovers and second chance romance. The couple that are addressed in this story had a one night stand years ago and have hated each other sense. Which makes thing even more difficult when Matt needs help from Sabrina because his partying ways has gotten him into hot water with his bosses and clients. This story is one that will make you laugh and all you can do is sit back and enjoy the craziness that is the fake relationship that these two eneimies have to put on for the New York City society to get Matt out of hot water. I enjoyed the jabs and barbs that these two throw back and forth, and the heat between these two will make your blood heat and your pulse race. I give this book a Serrano Pepper rating, because these two have chemistry that is palpable from the first scene together. The fact is that I throughly enjoyed  this book and give it 4 out of 5 stars.

I recommend this book to anyone who loves a romantic comedy that envolves a lot of back and forth trash talk, and one that has some spice.

I hope this helps you find your next Tantalizing Tome!

Good

3.5 Stars for me!

This was a good story and I liked it better than Hot Asset and have downloaded Book 3 already.

There is a bit of a love triangle but it is a minor part of the story. What did drive me a but crazy was the constant push pull plus the excessive negative head babble.

All works out and an HEA will be the result.
