I never thought I’d see her again - let alone find her in the same spot I left her 10 years ago, teaching at the high school where we fell in love.

I should have kept walking, but I wanted that laugh, that smile. I wanted five minutes before I got back to a life with no room for my past.

One kiss was all I meant to take...but then her fingers were in my hair, her breath hot against my lips, and my hands...everywhere.

Now I want more. I want her, but she only wants the guy I used to be.

And just like the first time...I can’t stay, and she won’t leave.

A complex, back and forth, heartfelt second chance romance. Hank and Abby's relationship has its ups and downs, its not all sunshine and rainbows; can they make things work? They have a beautiful friendship but getting together as an actual couple is complicated. I liked going on this journey with them.
Christian Fox and Savannah Peachwood did an amazing job bringing this story to life.

Hank and Abby

The writer endears the reader to the characters, their lives together and historically. Sweet and very sexy. Sometimes the trauma of our past influences the decisions we make as adults, and it holds us captive until those ties become more painful to keep than the fear of letting go. Well done without bogging down the story. Narration was excellent.

It got to my heart in some places but i didn't love it. Not completely and I really dont know why. There is a good storyline and great characters and very well written and thought out. It's just.... I don't know....

This is worth the time. The narration was wonderful as usual. I love this duo and give everybody they narrate a chance to be heard.

Great read

My goodness. Hot. Nerd. Love. 🔥🤓❤️ I love the low angst scorching stories like this!

This book reminded me why I really love Christian’s voice!!! Love Peachy, just not other characters. Is that weird?

So, so, so good!

Three things that threw me off and made this merely okay:

(1) The basic premise of this book bugged me the whole way through. Hank left to make something of himself and ten years later, she insists they can’t rekindle because …? He’s a rich, hunky, sweet tech genius who jet-sets all over the world and he isn’t capable of keeping in touch (much less thinking about a long distance relationship) because…? I’d have been able to tolerate the needless separation if they’d at least tried to talk things out, but no, they just acted like they were still in high school, silently pining away..

(2) The story was all tell and little show. Worse: the telling was bread crumbs until an end of book info dump. The biggest example is when Abby comes face to face with an important person, and the story jumps past the important confrontation, and instead Abby recaps the important moment. Showing us the impact in real time as the confrontation happened would have been great; instead, the author had to drag out the reveal until Abby tells Hank all about it and finally, (finally!) talks things out.

(3) This book was 90% cozy, small town romance and then 10% sex scenes that were both too detailed for a cozy and too vague to sizzle. The smutty parts just felt awkward.
