Enjoyable Short Story

This short story is in the Night Huntress series but its not about Cat and Bones. Its about one of the vampires Bones sired, Chance. Bones asks Chance to step in and help one of his friends's grandchildren and Chance took that chance and helped out... He ended up meeting a lovely lady and helped her out of her problems with some mafia guys caused by her brother.

I enjoyed this short story and finally it came as an audiobook. Was waiting for it and the other short stories for a while now.

A quick sample into the world of Frosts Vampires

I absolutely love all the books that Jeaniene Frost writes. She writes powerful women, strong but not douche men and weaves thrilling stories. This one is a great way to sample her writing universe before you dive into the longer books and get totally hooked!

O.o Yes!!!

Chance is the man for a mission of... peace. Some may call it differently but it’s just that. His peace at coming across the one woman in a long time that makes his little brain work as much as his big brain. But there is a serious problem around her. Her fiancé. Or the man she’s at least pretending she’d going to marry.

Mon bosses, crazy sidekicks and a vampire on a mission to free her from the grips of danger all collide in a big way. Times of the essence as is. One way or another he’s leaving with the girl.

Classic Frost Novela

This is one of my favorite short stories. Fun action packed storyline, and memorable characters. I love the narrator of this story, she does a great breathless, passionate woman (and man's!) voice! I listen to this story repeatedly, its worthy of it!

Entrancing Read

Jeaniene Frost entices her readers with every moment spent delving into the intrigue and emotion filling her books. Once I start reading, I cannot stop until I reach the final words, and then I long to begin again with her next book. Her stories come to life in the minds of her readers. I get lost in the world of fantasy and romance with no desire to leave. To highly recommend her books is an understatement.

A delightful spin-off

Would you consider the audio edition of Happily Never After to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version. However, I cannot imagine enjoying the story more than when it is read to me by the superb Tavia Gilbert.

What did you like best about this story?

Grandma Greta was pretty awesome. She has a sweet relationship with Bones, and his handmaiden (what is the male equivalent to that?) Chance. She has a colorful and somewhat sorrowful past that lead to an interesting, long life. She will stop at nothing to protect her granddaughter, and when she calls in her chits, there is hell to pay for certain over-blown mobsters. I also liked it when Isabella's loser brother shows up, and Grandma is disgusted with him, and then when he question's Isabella's sanity in believing in the undead, Grandma calmly sets him straight. Too funny.

Which character – as performed by Tavia Gilbert – was your favorite?

Grandma Greta

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved how calm Chance was in every instance when the mobsters try to kill him. He is like, 'really?' over and over. It's pretty funny.

Any additional comments?

This is a great short story, as a spin-off from the Night Huntress series. Well developed, fun conclusion, and well worth the read.
