Publisher's Summary

Stovepipe Stewart and Wilbur Coleman look like drifters, but don’t be fooled. In this blazing Western saga, these two undercover cowboys get paid to find trouble - and to risk their lives to stomp it out. By any means necessary.

Vance Brewster is a hardworking young cowboy. Stovepipe and Wilbur are two new ranch hands working at his side. And all three are caught up in a brewing, trigger-happy Montana range war between the Rafter M and Three Rivers. Then the fury suddenly explodes - in a hail of gunfire, the three men must show their hands: they’re all hiding their true identities. With Vance falling in love with the daughter of the Three Rivers manager, and Stovepipe and Wilbur paid by a tycoon who needs the violence to stop, all three are in mortal danger. Their real enemies are hiding true identities of their own - and they’re not nice men. The body count is about to go sky high...and Stovepipe and Wilbur would prefer not be be on top of the pile.

A good old fashioned western. G

Good guys, side kick, young heroine, love story, bad guys with evil intent. Good triumphs over evil. This Audio Artist is magnificent. His voices being characters to life. Brings memories of John Wayne, Gabby Hayes, Peter Graves, snarling outlaws, young green horns. Great listening, again and again. i will be sure to seek more John McLain readings. author Johnstone's storyline was creative, engaging, rapid, and captivating. I'll seek out his stories too.

The Many Twist of the Old West

I liked this book as I've done with all of Williamson's books. The characters are interesting, the main female characters are all young, pretty, independent, and sassy. I like Stovetop and Wilber , but l wish the book didn't show Wilber come off as slow witted.
James McClain has a very pleasant voice and listening to the reading a pleasure

What a great story!

I felt like I was watching a movie in my head. Jam-packed with gun fights, fist- fights, land fields and a romance!

The first of many J&J stories I’ll listen to

An excellent story line with some unexpected but plausible twists. Narration was great as well.

If you can get past the bad John Wayne impersonation for one of the characters, the story is good
