But news that Brewster's library is slated for demolition turns this halfhearted effort into a serious mission to find the ultimate problem-solver: money, and with it a new home for Brewster's precious collection.

Each frantic knock opens another barred door as the building's destruction draws nearer. Andrew Vachss is the Man

This is a Andrew Vachss book so its got to be great. Luckily they also assign master readers to his books which only make them better.

This book has the feeling of his Burke series which he justed ended because a similar "family" of street people and one of them is a martial arts family. While the concept is familiar its a new story from a man who seen a lot and always has something to say. You can't go wrong with a Vachss novel. Its either good or great. This one isn't one of his best but still fun and with lots of meat to chew on between your ears.
