Good

Wow! This is a good guide. I was provided with the know-how required to jump-start my career or gain a better understanding of offensive security. The book also walks me through each of the steps and tools in a straightforward manner, allowing listeners to understand how the output from each tool can be fully utilized in the subsequent phases of the penetration test.

Road to penetration testing

A great introduction to penetration testing. I love the hands on approach to learning. I am yet to complete it but have a good feeling about how it progresses. Definitely, good for beginners as it guides them from the absolute basics. All in all, it lays out a great foundation to learn about penetration testing.

Good hacking guide

What I like best about this is that it assumes you have virtually no knowledge of the security field, can operate a computer with some skill, and understand how to follow directions. The high-level view is really best for the true novice and helps to take away some of the intimidation of the field.

I have been meaning to learn hacking all this time and this book has just got my attention. I have learned so many things from this book that can help me with some hacking stuffs. This is a recommended listen.

As someone looking to get more into the computer and network security, I found this to be a great listen. The author did a wonderful job covering each of the penetration testing steps and presented each in a way that I found easy to follow along and understand.

This book has turned out to be the most beneficial book so far in my studies. It's packed with the baby steps needed for penetration testing. This has given me enough knowledge to seek other reference material to continue along this track.

Really a great listen! I like the way this book was narrated. Perfect sense and probably the most helpful part of the guide to learn Kali Linux in a step by step manner.

I felt so happy when I got this book. I found this book very easy to understand and I learned about computer hacking. Recommended book!

HACKING

You learn the very basics of many tools that can set you on a solid path to a penetration testing career. If you are new to this field and looking to get a solid foundation on hacking and penetration testing then I would highly recommend this book.

Horrible - Very basic content

Waste of money. It’s like listening to basic, nonsensical definitions of things with zero substance of real hacking. Very far off from how things operate in the real world.

Pure gold

I’ve been a competent Linux user for years but just recently have decided to become more of a real Linux and hacking geek. Every page of this book is pure gold.

I have been wanting to be a real hacker and I guess this book will help me with that. Easy to follow and comprehend.

Very useful!

I wanted to learn enough Linux quickly in order to find my way around and be productive on that operating system. This book gave me that. I use Ubuntu desktop and server. Very useful!

I highly recommend this book for the newcomer to hacking or information security. In fact, I will be using it in my "Introduction to Kali Linux" class next semester at the local college where I teach.

A good book

This was a good book for beginners. The terms are easy to understand and follow. The author explains everything thoroughly. My skills are a little ahead of this, it still gets four stars because it is informative and good to use as a quick reference guide.
