Publisher's summary

Well-known computer security infiltration specialist Jasper Huxley has never met a system he can’t hack. Whether his assignment is accessing a highly classified Pentagon server or modifying his little brother’s high school report card, he’s always got a botnet, an exploit, or a little bit of social engineering he can call up to get the job done.

But there are certain things he can’t finesse, no matter how hard he tries.

•Beating the infuriatingly adorable and maddeningly handsome Kevin Rogers in the ice mammoth expedition during Horn of Glory’s first annual Horn Master Championship week. (Robbery.)

•Accessing stolen cartel data on a device that’s never connected to a network. Pretty sure it’s the fault of a certain busybody gamer who will not be named. (Kev.)

•Sharing a house and–worse–a network with Kev. (Gah.)

•Being forced to allow a non-trained, non-serious, and irrestible civilian to take part in a critical intel operation. (•side-eyes Kev)

•Navigating social situations with grace when he continues to run into Kev–and his new gamer “boyfriend”–at society events during the course of a critical mission. (Like any serious relationship starts during a game.)

•Keeping Champion Security’s system safe from increasingly sophisticated black hat threats. (Not Kev, but still… annoying.)

In short, when Kevin Rogers is in the picture, the safe and peaceful life Hux has managed to construct for himself gets suddenly and irrevocably… hacked.

(And it’s all Kev’s fault.)

4.5 Stars 🌟

I'm not even sure what to say about this book. I am already a big fan of this series and was thrilled to find out that the next book was out. I honestly have no idea what it is about this world that Ms. Lennox has created, but I am 100% on board and have fallen in love with almost all of the characters that she has thrown in my pathway.

This book is the final (at least I think so) book in the trilogy dealing with the cartel and the missing information about the cartel finances that is supposedly on the lost Horn. I have loved getting to know the characters in this series and it has been one wonderful person after another that I have enjoyed watching (or reading) on their pathway to love.

With this story, Kevin and Jasper have been at each others throats and we find out that each of them might have reasons that they have been so adamantly opposed to working together. This has been an odd story arc for me with the whole cartel story line. Kevin and Jasper are the two characters that have the experience in IT programming and the background in trying to unravel everything that is going on. Yes, Jasper is kind of over the top with his dislike of Kevin, but I did like the way this unfolded and the way we watched the two of them come together.

I have found that I enjoy the way the Ms. Lennox unravels the storyline. I have found that each of her books have not only made me laugh, but have also made me discover that I have a deep appreciation for each and every one of the characters in these books. This is no exception.

This may be the end of this story arc, but you better believe that if I see another book come out in this world, that I will not hesitate to automatically hit the "buy" button. She has not let me down yet.

Haven’t made it through the book

I’ve had this in my library for nearly a month and haven’t made it past chapter 6. The problem isn’t the narration or the story but every time I go to start it I see the cover art and for some reason in my mind it looks like a highly constipated guy trying to work it out. When that is the first thing you see every time you try to start the story it’s hard to get into it. It’s disappointing when I really liked the other books in the series. I guess this is the first time I really realized how important cover art is. After I realized what my mental block was against this book, I would strongly suggest to any authors choosing cover art: Avoid anything that looks like someone in the middle of a difficult dump. It’s literally the one thing you see before hitting play. I’m intending this as constructive criticism not just for these authors but others as well. It’s at times like this I wish there were “conversational” reviews where a response might change my mental picture.

OMFG the Licking Thicket trilogy was so incredibly laugh out loud, hysterically, I almost peed my pants funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣! The characters were very well developed and enjoyable. Plots were captivating and narration was flawless.

Good story. Good narration.

The relationship tease that started in the first book of the "Horn of Glory" series finally gets resolved in this book. Definitely a slow burn romance with an inevitable conclusion.

The story was filled with some humorous moments, a few steamy scenes, and plenty of action considering the plot is centered on a multiplayer online game. Much of the humor is focused on game related puns, so be prepared for plenty of scenes involving game play and terminology.

If you enjoyed previous books in this series this will be a good continuation of the series.

Love Kev & Hux!!!

Kev and Hux's story is a lot of fun. I really enjoy the game related puns and the in-game banter. And the tension between the two until they finally admit their feelings for the other. I really like their interactions with the other characters as well. Truly a fun series that I definitely recommend.

Another great one

Great addition to this series. Horn of Glory. Michael Dean always brings these stories to life and gives each character their own personality. Lennox and Archer sure can write some Outstanding adventures. I'm glad we all get to reap the rewards that come from these writers and this narrator. well worth the credit and your time to listen.
