Beyond my expectations!!

The HCG Diet is broken into three phases that can be repeated any number of times until you reach your desired weight. For optimal weight-loss success, the recipes contained in this book are meant to be accompanied by daily HCG injections. All of the recipes are geared towards Phase 2, but many recipes contain suggestions on how to modify it for Phase 3. However, even if you are not following the HCG diet perfectly, or simply want a collection of low-calorie meal options, following the recipes in this cookbook can still help you lose weight. The recipes contained in this book are based on the strict dietary regulations of the HCG Diet. During Phases 2 and 3, you will have a strict number of foods that you are allowed to consume. Each recipe shows you how many servings of these different food groups can be found in one recipe. For example, the Chicken Curry Soup contains 1 protein serving and 1 vegetable serving for the day. In addition to these prescribed amounts, you are also permitted to consume an unlimited amount of water, coffee, and tea. Another large part of the diet is using a sugar substitute, usually stevia or saccharin. This can also be consumed in unlimited amounts per day. The measurements included in this recipe book are for dry, granular form sugar substitutes, not for oil or liquid forms. Finally, you can have any of the spices that you want. However, not all the spices you might have in your cupboard are permitted during Phase 2 of this diet. Be sure and read the ingredients labels carefully. You should avoid anything that contains oils, starches, or sugars. Also, avoid anything with preservatives. Additionally, check to see if the spice contains any ingredients with names that end with -dextrin, - tol, or -ose. Avoid spices that contain such words. If you are having difficulty finding cooking spices that work with this diet, ask at your local health food store for some alternative brands.

Make the Low-Calorie Chili

1. Begin by preparing the vegetables and garlic. 2. Wash the tomato in cool water until clean. Using a cutting board and knife, slice the tomatoes into .25 square inch pieces or about that. Set it aside for later. 3. Be sure to remove the skin of the onion and cut out a portion of it about .125 of the entire onion. Then chop the onion and set it aside. 4. Remove the casing from the garlic and using the cutting board and knife, mince the garlic until you have about 1.5 teaspoons of it. Set it aside for later. 5. Once the vegetables have been prepared, remove any excess fat from the lean ground beef and brown it in a small frying pan. 6. When the beef has been cooked, add the chopped onions and minced garlic. Cook it continually until all the flavors are mixed together. 7. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and add the .5 cup filtered water. 8. Turn the heat of the burner down to simmer the beef and vegetables. 9. After about 2 minutes of simmering, add the spices one by one to the beef. 10. Continue simmering the mixture until most but not all of the water has evaporated. 11. After the beef and vegetables have simmered for about 10 minutes and most of the water is gone, it is ready to be served and can be served with additional onion as a garnish if desired.
I bet you didn't know this, but a big bowl of chili can help you lose weight. Yes, you read that right. The capsicum found in the chilies and the peppers used to season your chili will raise your body's metabolic rate thereby raising heat production. Even sweet red peppers can do this.

For anyone who is interested in HCG

Actually I don't use the HCG Drops. I don't find it necessary. I was 175lbs and got my weight down to 130lbs. This diet does work. I feel that the only reason why this diet doesn't work for some is because they cheat. If you stick to the diet and only eat 500 calories a day you can lose to. Buy HCG Diet volume 2 also. With both books you have a large variety of meals to choose from.

Nicely explained

Well, maybe a little, but having this book has sure made the diet a lot more tolerable than it would have been if I didn't have it. And yes, I have lost weight. Not as much as I would like to but that's because I have cheated a little. Okay I cheated more than a little, LOL, but I still think the diet works extremely well if you follow it the way you're supposed to.

I CAN DO THIS!!!

This is exactly what I needed to keep me focused and follow the rules of the hcg diet. This book has helped me tremendously through my HCG journey. The recipes are quick and easy and use spices and ingredients I already had in my pantry! A great help with menu planning and ideas to make very limited food choices into a satisfying meal everytime.

I've lost 23 pounds and am on my last week of injections. Couldn't have done it without the variety of recipes found in this book. Have loved the book. The recipes are simple to make are tasty as well as filling. As the calories are already counted there is no need to find out how much you are eating. To date I have lost 7.5kgs without any effort. This is a first for 19 years as I have tried everything and nothing worked.

This diet is the best for me and the book is a godsend. After a lot of research on the HCG Protocol, and many conflicting blog/websites, I decided on this cookbook to be my companion on this diet because it sticks to the original manuscript. Having never dieted before, I didn't know really what to expect but this book took me step by step and answered all of my questions. The recipes are good and easy to follow.

I am obsessed with Japan

Immigrants from the Asian continent kept on pouring into Japan. Gradually, the hunter-gatherer type of lifestyle was replaced with the agrarian one. As immigrants settled in Japan, the population became more and more preoccupied with agriculture and strove to better it. An interesting fact that we need to mention is that Japan was known as “Wa” during this period. The Book of the Later Han, a historiography on the Han dynasty is where this denomination first appears. It seems that the Yaoyi that inhabited the Wa were not an unified people, but a cesspool of various tribes, which again, is a relevant argument that could explain how the population grew so fast. In terms of social system, when it became known as Wa, Japan started to function on a “master-slave” pattern; taxes started to be collected, giving birth to economy (although, of course, quite rudimentary). The Records of the Three Kingdoms, another historiography that dates back to the 3rd century, launches the hypothesis that the Yaoyi people were governed by a queen named Himiko. It also says that ancient Japan during the Yaoyi period was far from being tranquil. The document lets researchers know that there was constant warfare between many kings of the Yaoyi people. This may be veridical since they had iron and polished stone weapons to fight with.

Tomato Soup

There’s nothing more comforting or crave-worthy than a warm bowl of tomato soup—and that’s why it’s so disappointing when the canned stuff doesn’t live up to your expectations. It’s often too sweet, artificial-tasting, or just otherwise unpleasant. But, when you’re in a rush or when you’re not in the mood to cook, cracking open a can of ready-to-heat tomato-y goodness is pretty darn appealing. Ingredients need: 1 large tomato, 1.5 ounces tomato paste, 1 cup filtered water or HCG Approved Chicken Stock (recipe found in the Sauce section), 1 small onion, 1 tablespoon basil, 1 garlic clove, .25 teaspoon oregano, .25 teaspoon of sugar substitute, .125 teaspoon pepper, .25 teaspoon salt. How to make the Tomato Soup 1. Begin by preparing the vegetables. Wash the tomato and also, after the skin has been removed, wash the onion until both are clean. 2. On the cutting board, chop the tomato into small pieces. Add these pieces to the blender. 3. Chop the onion into small pieces and also add to the blender. 4. Remove the casing from the garlic clove and thoroughly mince it. Also, add it to the blender. 5. Measure out the basil, oregano, sugar substitute, pepper and salt. Add these spices to the blender. 6. Add the 1.5 ounces of tomato paste and the filtered water to the blender. 7. Blend the entire mixture on high for 1 minutes, or until the tomato and onion have been pulverized. 8. Transfer the mixture to a small sauce pan. Then bring the whole mixture to a boil. Continue to boil the soup for 7 more minutes. 9. Once the mixture is boiling, lower heat and cook it continually for another 5 minutes. 10. Remove from heat and serve hot.
