"I've been told that the entire continent of Antarctica groaned at the moment of my birth. The howl tore across glaciers, over mountains and deep into the ice. Everyone says so. Except for my father; all he heard was Mother's sobs. Not of pain, but of joy, so he says. Other than that, the only verifiable fact about the day I was born is that an iceberg the size of Los Angeles broke free from the ice shelf a few miles off the coast."

Publisher's Summary
Jack Sigler, Callsign: King, has been a lot of things in his life. A soldier, a father, a hero. But now he's taking up a new title: guardian.
After a life fighting billionaire madmen, terrorists, and unnatural threats, he's stuck thousands of years in the past, using his knowledge of history and modern warfare to right wrongs and stand up for those in need.
When he meets a 12-year-old boy - the prince of the Babylonian Empire - who is to be sacrificed to the ancient goddess Tiamat by a twisted High Priest, King steps in, sword swinging. But what starts as a simple snatch-and-grab, quickly turns into a pitched battle against a legion of men and hideous creatures. As Tiamat rises from her ancient resting place, the fate of the world - and King's future - is at stake.
Trapped millennia in the past and gifted with regenerative abilities, King must live out the centuries until he returns to his own time and his family. The Jack Sigler Continuum series tells the events that occurred in King's life as a result of the full-length novel, Omega, but no prior reading is required to enjoy the Continuum series. Each story will be a standalone adventure, and a great jumping-on point.

HOW MANY TIMES CAN A MAN DIE IN ONE DAY?
Orion
The main character reminds me of Orion of the Ben Bova series. While there was plenty of action and weird Scorpion Men, I just could not get into this. I don't know if it is Jack Sigler, The Chess Team or Holloway, but this just falls flat.
Kafer is always good.
The answer to the question is no one knows. In the first half hour he died three times. It got old before the story even got started.

Novella of a Great series
I truly injoy the this differnt take on the series has were given a new perspective on the life King lived in the early centuries of his semi-immortalty. The chacthers struggle to keep sane and strong morals to not abandon the defenseless to evil was truly moving in my opion. Do I did not like the history if aliens connection to king future was left on a cliffhanger for a future nivel was abit sad hope you write in a novel one day what the plot that was on.

This was a fabulous book.
What a wonderful imagination. I thoroughly enjoyed the Jack Sigler Chess Team series. I appreciate the fact that the books are available in a narrative format as I have lost a great amount my vision and it is difficult for me read any longer. I wish the third book in the Continuum series was also narrated as I would certainly have looked forward to hearing that story as well. I hope we can look forward to more Chess team and Continuum books in the near future.

Fantastic!
What a great, fun listen. I honestly could not stop listening. Lots of action and extremely well written. Robinson & Holloway are a fascinating combination. I would strongly recommend listening to the other Chess Team/ Jack Sigler Thrillers before picking this one up as it does have some major spoilers that happen in those, however, if you don't mind spoilers go ahead and get this. I can guarantee you will not be sorry.
Jeffrey Kafer is King, I can't imagine anyone else voicing him now. Even when I read, in my mind when King speaks, it's Kafer's voice I hear. He goes a fantastic job of bringing the story alive, how he manages all those difficult pronunciations is beyond me. A first class performance.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. From the first few minutes I was drawn into ancient Babylonia with Jack Siglar. The story was action packed. Although I'm tempted to go back and read the series that leads up to this one it wasn't necessary for enjoyment of this book. Looking forward to the next one.

Any additional comments?
A thrilling adventure that can be easily lsten to in one evening! The story follows Jack who finds himself thrust back in time guarding a young prince who has been marked for death. Robinson and Holloway make for an interesting literary pairing! Bringing together fictional characters along with an interesting mixture of biblical characters.
