Publisher's summary

Resisting an irresistible force wears you down and turns you out.

I know - I've been doing it for years.

I may not have a musical gift of my own, but I've got a nose for talent and an eye for the extraordinary.

And Marlon James - Grip to his fans - is nothing short of extraordinary.

Years ago, we strung together a few magical nights, but I keep those memories in a locked drawer and I've thrown away the key. All that's left is friendship and work.

He's on the verge of unimaginable fame, all his dreams poised to come true.

I manage his career, but I can't seem to manage my heart. It's wild, reckless, disobedient - and it remembers all the things I want to forget.

Contains mature themes.

Epic!!

Grip is more than a love story, it's a life story. The beautiful, stolen moments amidst the ugliness, unfairness and judgments of life. Grip is Epic.

Grip and Bristol's story has been long awaited. We've watched their dance while falling in love with Rhyson and Kai. We've seen their instant attraction, fears, and frustrations throughout the Soul Series. Now it's their turn.

Flow introduces young Bristol and Marlon "Grip". A simple week changes their future.

Grip brings real life struggles. Love chooses you. You don't choose love. Love is hearts and souls finding their other half regardless of race, religion, sex, income, education. It's not easy and it doesn't work without trust and respect.

Their dance spans several years and her avoidance is painful to them both. He's hurting. She's hurting. She's hurting him. Bristol makes a decision that could destroy them both and everything changes. This can't go on.

This is a HEA story but along the way are some of life's biggest obstacles, seemingly ripped from the news. Grip is as real as it gets. One week, years of hurt, many lifetimes of injustice, and a love so deep. Grip will make you think. It will make you feel the gamut of emotions. And it will give you hope.

Kennedy Ryan has written an Epic story in Grip. It is a story like no other.

This was an audio re-read and these narrators brought an already amazing story to life. Fantastic narrators. Jakobi Diem had me melting!! 🤗🤗

Emotional, slow burn, maddening and epic

I've been putting off reading this book because of how emotional I have heard it was. Something compelled me to this series that I couldn't ignore.

If you love a slow burn romance, one that can be maddening at times, but results in fireworks that are out of this world, Grip is the book for you.

The narration completely immerses you in the world of Grip and Bristol. Truly terrific performances by both narrators.

Oh my goodness I am floored! Grip is the raw, emotional, and inspirational story of an interracial couple’s determination to love, live and be happy with one another❣️ The betrayals, misunderstandings and covetousness of those involved were inspiring to all who paid attention. Jakobi Diem’s narration and deep, scratchy sexy voice is panty melting! Maxine Mitchell was excellent with her narration making you feel every emotion❣️I loved this audiobook! 5stars and counting 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩❣️

Great characters, hot romance

What an epic love story, the characters are deep, and struggle with real problems. Will definitely be reading more from the author.

I really tried not to like this book!

My own implicit bias had me thinking the worst when I heard the book sample and read the synopsis: poor black man makes it out of the hood and becomes successful then dates/marries white (or so I thought). This book is an example of love in it's pure form. I found myself midway through the book yelling at Bristol because she wouldn't give Grip a chance, lol (how's that for a change of heart). The book is very well written and read. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Love conquers all

I truly enjoyed how they each found their persons and willing to love honestly, open heartedly and respectfully. This was amazing. I cannot wait to read the next one!

amazing story!

I could not stop listening to this book! The narrators were perfect and made the story beautifully come to life! I wish "Still" was an audiobook. I'm disappointed it isn't even in the works.

A Multiple Listen

The narrators are exactly what I was expecting. Kennedy Ryan is a fabulous writer and I would read the phone book if she wrote it. I’ve listened to this audio multiple times. It’s one of my go-to’s.

Very real

Loved how it dealt with race issues on both sides. My daughter went through the same thing with a boyfriend's mother. Good read.

A Great Romance with a Powerful Message!!!

This was an interesting experience, in a WONDERFUL WAY! It's rare that I listen to a Romance Audible and throughout the Novel I am completely moved by the storyline by the Author's exceptional ability to combine a beautiful romance with wonderfully deep character's that are so easily relatable. Throughout this novel , the Author does such an amazing job making every Character so mainstream, they all seem like every people.
Throughout the book, Kennedy Ryan addresses the REAL LIFE struggles, I personally enjoyed the storyline of the lead female's struggles with insecurity due to the lack of love she desperately seeked throughout the Novel from her Alcoholic Mother and absent Father. I related to her the most on a personal level so I found her personal situation inspiring.
The main message,of course, is what makes this book exceptional!!! I won't ruin the surprise.. To sum up my thoughts, do yourself a favor and 🎶to THIS EXCEPTIONAL AUDIBLE!!
P.S. I am quite curious as to who actually wrote the "Raps" in the book. Specifically Bruised?!? I am an old 🐣but I found it to be pretty🆒🆒🆒❗
