Editorial reviews

Joanna Daniel performs this collection of 25 of the greatest fairy tales from the Brothers Grimm. Translator Margaret Hunt is credited with bringing German folklore to the attention of English-speaking children, but in this audiobook, Joanna Daniel gets all the credit for a charming performance that adults will appreciate as much as their offspring. Tom Thumb, Snow White, Cinderella, and the Frog Prince all make appearances here, as well as some lesser-known characters like Dummling, Catherine and Frederick, and Mother Holle. All of them are both rendered delicately and enlivened by Daniel's winsome English accent.

Perfect in every sense!

The narrator couldn't have done a better job! Enjoyed entirely from start to finish, bravo!

More funny than "grimm" .

These were comical. I was a little disappointed, I thought they would resemble the fairytales of my youth put only a few of them did.

Fun

It was fun to read many of the stories I heard as a child. There were even a couple of stories I had never heard before.

Okay

The narrator did a nice job. She is a good story teller. I just don't like the stories much.

Awesome!

I loved it! My 8 year old son loved it so much that he would ask to listen to it whenever we get in the car. It's a great family listen.

Not Your Disney Version Fairy Tales

Just saying you may want to listen to the stories first before playing them for your kids. Violence abounds in these stories, though the lessons are still applicable. It's still fun to see how much the original stories differ from the modern versions.

These are older versions but there are a few newer one. I really love the narrators voice. It is very soothing. She does a great job with the voice changes too. :-D
