Another great short story...

Another short story from Debbie Manber Kupfer. In this story, set during WWII, the Nazis have created a shapeshifter - a werecat - to use as a weapon. The problem with creating weapons that are sentient is that they can think for themselves.

This was a very interesting take on the experiments the Nazis performed during WWII. It's a somewhat dark topic for a children's short story, but not overly so. The narrator, Christopher Goodrich, did a fair enough job for a children's Story, but he was clearly reading more than performing. Still, it wasn't bad, and it is a story that I will listen to again.

A Simple Fantasy

This was a simple story of Nazi's, cats, and shape shifters. Well written, it will test your reality and belief in history as it was written. Still in all, it was a worthwhile read.

Stuck in Traffic?

Purrfect for that short commute at only 26 minutes, this story is sure to get you attached to the P.A.W.S. series or books. Intriguing and delightful in subject matter and characters, I wished it had been MUCH longer.

I listened to this as an audible ARC

5/5 Stars Griddlebone by Debbie Manber Kupfer
Run time: 26 minutes
Narrated by: Christopher Goodrich
Summary:
Shapeshifting cats take on the Nazis.

Additional Comments:
- Imaginative and fun.
- What if the Nazi scientists succeeded in creating a shapeshifting werecat-soldier? That’s pretty much the crux of this story.
- Christopher Goodrich did an excellent job bringing the story to life.
- It’s a short story but worth hearing, whether you’re a P.A.W.S. fan or never heard of it. The story can stand on its own. I think it takes place way before the normal series.

Conclusion:
If you like fantasy historical fiction (if there is such a thing), you’ll enjoy this tale. It’s got heart, heroics, and kitty cats.

Ok

I thought the idea of warecats was very unique and then adding the fact that they save people, lakes the book great.I feel that there is so much more that could be done with this.the narrator doesn't do the book justice. His German accent makes the character sound like he came from India.

The origin of the werecats

I enjoyed this short tale that give us Griddlebone’s back story... the origins of the werecats, and how he meet Esther.

I really enjoy these short tales by Debbie Manber Kupfer. They are an added bonus, giving more background to the lesser characters in the world of P.A.W.S.

Christopher Goodrich did a fine job with the narration.

P.A.W.S. Extra

I enjoyed this short story that delved more into the back story of the P.A.W.S. series that Debbie Manber Kupfer wrote. I wish that this tale had been longer, although there might be more in the other short stories that she wrote to accompany her series. Christopher Goodrich's narration is fine but lacks intensity. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

A good shapeshifter short

A deep and fun short of fantasized empowerment to fight off the nazis in old Germany. A good paws short.

Interesting side story.

This is the fifth book I have read/listened to by this author and I look forward to listening to every book in the P.A.W.S. world. I am enjoying these side stories to the main P.A.W.S. Book, even if I don’t recall these characters in the first book. Guess I need to re-listen after listening to all the Tales from P.A.W.S. so I can place these characters. ——-

This is the first book I have listened to by this narrator ( Christopher Goodrich ) and I would listen to another. He did a good job with both the male and female character voices. He reads more than really performs the book due to his enunciation, but it is still a pleasant listen. He does add emotion. ——-

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence, or swearing. ——-

Narrator was a let down

I feel that I wasn't prepared enough for this book not realising that it would have been more useful to have read the previous books first. So I found the book a little confusing. That said I also didn't think much of the narrator and felt his voice was too monotone, no emotion in it and no different voice between the characters.

Clever gripping story

Although this is a short story, it grips from the beginning set in a tragic part of WW2, the characters are believable in a fantasy way.
It was very clever , I hope we hear Griddlebone and his companions in the future
