Are you excited about planning your next trip? Do you want to try something new while traveling? Would you like some guidance from a local? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this audiobook is just for you.
Greater Than a Tourist: Mexico City, Mexico by Pilu Alvigini offers the inside scoop on Mexico City. Most travel books tell you how to travel like a tourist. In this audiobook, you'll discover local advice that will help you throughout your stay. This audiobook will not tell you exact addresses or store hours but instead will give you an excitement and knowledge from a local that you may not find in other travel audiobooks. Travel like a local. Slow down, stay in one place, and get to know the people and the culture of a place.
By the time you finish this audiobook, you will be eager and prepared to travel to your next destination.

I started my backpacking days in my late 20s and have not stopped since. I still feel there are so many new places to discover, people to meet, new food to try. When I was a newbie traveler, I made many mistakes, forgot to take essential items, and just made some bad choices. Over the years, through experience and learning from others, I have learned what you need to do to travel as safely as possible, what essential items to take, how to take care of your health, and how to make the most of your trip.

Horizontal Vertigo: The title refers to the fear of ever-impending earthquakes that led Mexicans to build their capital city outward rather than upward. With the perspicacity of a keenly observant flâneur, Juan Villoro wanders through Mexico City seemingly without a plan, describing people, places, and things while brilliantly drawing connections among them.

Good Overview
This was exactly what I was expecting. A good overview from a local perspective of some things to do in and near Mexico City. It was a decent level of detail—enough for me to know which ideas I might want to research more. My only complaint is that I wish there were more structure in the audiobook format—such as grouping the ideas thematically or geographically and then naming the chapters that way. It would make it easier to go back and review things I might want to hear again. But overall, I’m happy with my purchase.
