Our Story:
Traveling is a passion of the Greater than a Tourist book series creator. Lisa studied abroad in college, and for their honeymoon Lisa and her husband toured Europe. During her travels to Malta, an older man tried to give her some advice based on his own experience living on the island since he was a young boy. She was not sure if she should talk to the stranger but was interested in his advice. When traveling to some places she was wary to talk to locals because she was afraid that they weren’t being genuine. Through her travels, Lisa learned how much locals had to share with tourists. Lisa created the Greater Than a Tourist book series to help connect people with locals. A topic that locals are very passionate about sharing.

Good summary of Key West
I’m planning a trip to Key West and found this summary very helpful. Lots of information about hotels, restaurants and beaches with a nice sprinkling of history and local tips. I would have liked more information about the state and national parks in the keys, but this book is about Key West and not the Keys in general. Good read and a good resource.

Memories
Having travelled to Key west from Macon GA on a Harley with my good friend Steven we toured down the FL keys and at sunset drove into Key West, our main destination. The sky was bright pink and I took a photo of palm trees as we hit the edge of town, we stayed in the Duval Inn on Duval St. Key west houses are full of colour, the streets come alive at night. Everything about the place makes you feel good. This book brings back memories but also gives me the tips I needed for places to see when I get back there, very soon I hope.

Story
Tired of the pace and noise of life near London and longing for a better place to raise their young children, Mary J. MacLeod and her husband, George, encountered their dream while vacationing on a remote island in the Scottish Hebrides. Enthralled by its windswept beauty, they soon were the proud and startled owners of a near-derelict croft house - a farmer’s stone cottage - on “a small acre” of land. Mary assumed duties as the island’s district nurse.

Story
The “mountain men” were the hunters and trappers who fiercely strode the Rocky Mountains in the early to mid-1800s. They braved the elements in search of the skins of beavers and other wild animals, to sell or barter for goods. The lifestyle of the mountain men could be harsh, existing as they did among animals, and spending most of their days and nights living and camping out in the great unexplored wilds of the Rockies.

New Hampshire features Frost's meditations on rural life, love, and death, delivered in the voice of a soft-spoken New Englander. Critics have long marveled at the poet's gift for capturing the speech of the region's natives and his realistic evocations of the area's landscapes. This compilation, first published in 1923, earned Frost the first of his four Pulitzer Prizes and includes several of his best-known poems: "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening", "Nothing Gold Can Stay", and "Fire and Ice".
