While there are some helpful tips in this book, especially if you are traveling with kids, compared to the Singapore edition of the Greater Than a Tourist series, I found the Bangkok edition to be lacking in the true insiders experience.

Barely worth $3

This is supposed to be tips from a local that you won't find in a typical tourist guide, but it's the same info you will find anywhere on the web. Tips like "check out Madam Tussaud's wax museum" or "go to a McDonald's for fish sticks" are hardly local secrets.

Save your money and spend 5 minutes on the web.
