Publisher's Summary

Here is the bold adventure story of William Dunn, an educated man yet an accomplished mountain man. His life becomes forever entwined with the wild, unforgettable Grand Canyon. He hires on as a guide for the John Wesley Powell historic expedition into the Grand Canyon, but then leaves the expedition to guide two men back to civilization. During the trip they are attacked by Paiutes, Dunn escapes but is pursued and makes a wild run down the side of the canyon to the river. The river delivers him into the world of the Havasupai Indians where he finds love and inspiration for his future.

great introduction to the Grand Canyon

Would you listen to Grand Canyon again? Why?

I will definately listen to this book again ( after my first visit to the Grand Canyon this year ). It put my future Grand Canyon trek into perspective.

Any additional comments?

the narrator was slow of speach and not very engaging - but the story was very interesting and I got used to the narration after a while.
