The emotional and poignant true story of a middle-aged couple that married after meeting Online, and the designer puppy that became their "together child", showing them that her role of filling their empty nest, though filled with trials, would be worth it in the end.
Gary and Bobbi were building a life together, rebounding from past failed marriages. They had learned a lot. With excess baggage set aside, they vowed that this marriage would last forever. Just days after moving into their new home, Bobbi's early Christmas present arrived in the form of a soft, buff Cockapoo puppy, Gracie. And so, their new life together began.
Gracie was a rebel. After christening the new dog carrier en route home and then the new plush white carpeting throughout their new home, the Phillips wondered if getting a dog so soon after moving into their new home was a good idea. Gracie's antics did not stop there. She stole pens, ate candy bar wrappers, chewed up wiring, intimidated guests, and proclaimed the kitchen floor as her permanent bathroom.
But her abiding love surpassed her mischievous behavior time and time again, and as on-board baggage began to surface and disrupt the lives of a once happy couple, Gracie became the glue that held this family together. She offered comfort and companionship as a debilitating case of parental alienation tore Gary's youngest daughter from their lives, creating a court battle that threatened to bankrupt the couple and destroy their marriage. When Gracie began chewing her paws, Gary chewing his nails, and Bobbi chewing on chocolate eclairs, it was obvious that this family needed the life-changing events that were soon to follow.
Could a soft, buff color Cockapoo, full of attitude and hell-bent on being princess of the castle, make much of a impact in a family's life? You be the judge.
