Acerca de esta escucha
From narrowly avoiding a trip in a mobster’s trunk and saving Howard Stern’s life from a murderous fan, to getting beat up by Spike Lee’s bodyguards and having guns drawn on him after spending Christmas with Mark Hamill and his family, Steve Grillo's life is nothing but surreal.
Gorilla Parts is a roller coaster ride from blue-collar Canarsie to Manhattan’s most elite VIP rooms; a common-man’s extended glimpse into the last true era of limitless celebrity freedom: Pre-internet New York City.
Hailing from an enormous Irish-Italian family, all sorts of characters pop into and out of Steve’s life as his aunts teach him how to sneak out of church, he starts bartending fifteen, lands on The Howard Stern Show a few years later, and has to juggle mornings on the radio, afternoons at college, and nights making appearances and smoking blunts with Tupac. While most people gaze longingly, starry-eyed, at the idea of fame, Steve went out and grabbed it for himself, earning a place in radio history.
A mix of 54 and Private Parts, these stories are told with a wit, charm, and an endearing belligerence that can only be described as quintessentially New York. Come behind the curtain to where only a few ever get to be.

Great story! Very funny! Listened straight through!!!
Great listen! Exciting story about not just the scenes, but the behind the scenes life of one of Radio’s most famous interns, from his time working on one of the world’s most infamous radio shows “ the Howard Stern show”. Loved hearing all the crazy stories from such a humble perspective. Very personal, like I was sitting in front of him listening to him through the whole book. Highly recommend!
