"Goody Two Shoes", published by an anonymous author in 1765, has long been one of the most popular children's stories ever written. It is the kind of story your grandmother might have told, and its message of optimism, bravery, and the rewards of honesty are giving it new popularity today.

In recent years, the phrase "a goody two shoes" has developed a negative connotation, implying that the virtuousness of a such a person is insincere. This was certainly not the case in the original story. It is a charming tale of good rewarded and evil punished - a classic "happily every after" story.

from today's cynicism. Mys kids loved it!

Again, this is one of those stories that was read to me as a child, to have it read to me again now I'm old was fun. There is certainly no intellectural depth, just plain good.
