There Really Is A Life After PD

Not understanding for a couple of years why I was losing my balance and being exhausted most of the time was driving me up a wall. So then getting diagnosed not by one neurologist but two was a double edged sword. Knowing that I wasn’t losing my mind and it was PD was a comfort short lived. The realty of my situation was hard on me and my family. But what I realized and has now been reinforced by Goodbye PD Hello Life is that it’s not a death sentence. Body motion is the key to keeping PD at bay. A body in motion will stay in motion as long as you focus on it. Exercise exercise and more exercise.
Read this book and you will change the PD script for a healthy person with PD like symptoms script. You can do it I know because I have and continue to every day. Change your mindset and hello life ;-)...

Beyond Informative

If you or a loved one struggles with Parkinsonism, you MUST read this book. It is an overall as well as detailed description of life practices that everyone would benefit from. I believe I am in the early stages of this, and what Alex has shared is changing my life, and gives me great hope for the future.

I’m All In - A Parkinson’s Warrior

Sometimes you get lucky and come across a life-changing opportunity. Alex’s book describing his Gyro-Kinetic Method not only sounds fun, it goes right along with my love of music. I may dig out my old air guitar as well.

Really Annoying

This book has one good idea, “see yourself as a healthy person with Parkinsons symptoms, rather than as a sick person.” That is a very positive idea, and I like it and can use it. There are also some very basic exercises. Overall, though, I found this author to be incredibly condescending and even once actually said something like “You gave yourself Parkinsons.” I am only halfway through this book and will TRY to see it through, but I really can’t stand it. I have pd and don’t relate much to the profile he is describing (a non expressive, highly anxious person). I may just take the one good idea and leave it at that. One thing I have learned with Parkinson’s is that if something isn’t fun, don’t do it. The value of the book so far could have been condensed to just a few pages.
