Publisher's Summary

Long before Oscar Diggs' balloon carried him off from the county fair to his destiny as a humbug wizard or a twister turned Dorothy Gale's farmhouse into a flying merry-go-round, Oz groaned under the tyranny of the Wicked Witches...the witches and their great enemy, Glinda the Good. For Glinda, nothing was more important than the destruction of the Wicked Witches. She was willing to pay any price to win her private war with the witches, even if that price was the life of an innocent girl.

Good is an exciting fantasy adventure filled with humor, magic, talking beasts, humbug magicians, and intrigue, set in Oz a century before the events described in The Wizard of Oz, but it also asks serious questions about the nature of good and evil and why, sometimes, they may look so much alike.

Interim review

Circumstances right now prevent me from writing an extensive review. I will update my review as soon as I am able. Audio quality dropped my rating by a star for the narration.

Really Fun Take on Glinda

It's a little slow in the beginning, but it does pick up pretty quickly. Without giving too much away I really loved the take on Glinda and in many ways can't believe I didn't pick up on it before. If you like the Oz books then this will be a fun read for you too. The narrator did a really good job, my only complaint is that I did find his voice for Dusty a bit too high pitched which made it personally a bit grating. It's a clean read safe for any reader.

—I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Good

Listening to Good: Glinda the Good and the Plot Against the Wicked Witch of the North was like having your grandpa read you a story, and that is a good thing. Even though it is not the type of story I usually read, it was a nice prequel with a strong message about the nature of being good.

The recording did have an annoying hiss, but I was able to listen if I kept it turned down a little.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
