Publisher's summary

If there's a naughty list, Izzy Sassafras is on it - but she's ready to make a new start this Christmas. Especially after leaving her lying, cheating, no-good husband and fleeing to her old hometown of Matrimony, Georgia. Izzy's made herself a promise: No more men. All she wants to do is get her wedding business up and running - and mend fences with her estranged sisters. But Izzy knows she's in trouble when her very first client, a smooth-talking Texan, makes her light up like a Christmas tree.

Desperate for business, private investigator Levi Fox reluctantly takes a case involving a runaway wife in a town called Matrimony. When he meets sweet, sexy Izzy, he decides she can't possibly be as innocent as she seems. At first, posing as her client is the perfect cover; but he soon imagines himself as a groom - with Izzy as his Christmas bride! Will this case end with a trip to the chapel... or the jailhouse?

Terrible book and narration..

I’ve read 10 or 15 of Rita Herron’s books, I especially loved The Slaughter Creek series, but I didn’t like this at all. There were just too many secrets between the sisters and they hadn’t even seen each other for ten years. Why did they refuse to tell each other about their personal lives? They acted like angry teenagers.

And then there was Levi, who pretended to be planning a wedding for himself and his fiancé. As if anyone would believe that kind of nonsense; a man planning a wedding WITHOUT the soon-to-be-bride? The undercover story could have been much better than that. (He was undercover to try and find out if Izzy was a crook along with her husband.)

The story was silly. Ms. Herron should probably stick to her murder mysteries.

There was no sex in this but there was a few dirty little thoughts.

As to the narration: I’ve tried at least 3 times to listen to Natalie Ross but I’m at an end. She does read with emotions and she does do women’s voices in different tones and accents that are great BUT she only has one man’s voice, which I do appreciate, but that one voice is just terrible. It’s like he’s constipated or something. It’s just a terrible sound. I give up!!
