Publisher's Summary

The newest romantic mystery from the bestselling author of the Katie & Annalise series! Going for Kona has it all: unforgettable characters, an epic love story, and a pause-resisting mystery that will keep you guessing until the end.

When her husband is killed in a hit-and-run bicycling accident, it takes all of Michele Lopez Hanson's strength not to burrow into their bed for the rest of her life. But their kids need her, and she promised herself she'd do the Kona Ironman Triathlon in Adrian's honor, and someone seems to be stalking her family, so she slogs through the pain to keep herself on track. Her dangerously delirious training sessions become a link between her and Adrian, and she discovers that if she keeps moving fast enough to fly, she can hold onto her husband - even as she loses her grip on herself and faces her biggest danger yet.

Going for Kona kept me guessing

Honestly in the beginning I had to stop reading it and take a break because Pamela’s descriptions of the characters emotions was so gripping my own emotions were getting to me. I have now found a new author to read. It keeps you guessing until the end and I was not bored for one minute. I’d call it a must read.

Being from Houston myself, there was a touch of nostalgia knowing where she was talking about but even if you didn’t you definitely could picture it. So glad I read/listened to this book.

Great Story. Took me for a ride!

Would you consider the audio edition of Going for Kona to be better than the print version?

I love audio books, so my response is biased.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the intricacies of the plot. I love the suspense, the surprises, and especially the character of Michelle.

Which character – as performed by Natalie Gray – was your favorite?

I thought they were all quite believable....I loved her take on the teenage boy. It surprised me how much I FELT that character. I was grateful I wasn't his Mother!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

You always never know.

Any additional comments?

I loved the infusion of some Spanish....I wish there had been a little more, because I feel that Michelle's character was fiery and was holding back a little.

Smooth, flavorful, enjoyably tasty cup of words

What did you love best about Going for Kona?

The reader, Natalie Grey!

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The personal relationship between the characters was well written and believable.

What does Natalie Gray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Natalie Grey added so much to the story with her enthusiasm, her lively narration and minor sound effects that it made it feel like she was in the car with me, telling me this story on my way to work, making the time just fly by.

Any additional comments?

If you like your suspense in the lighter Sue Grafton vein, rather than the darker stories of Jo Nesbo, then you are going to love this book. The story is lightly suspenseful, with very little violence, but the characters are lively, the story satisfying and the narrator is excellent!

Heartwarming story that will keep you on the edge of your seat

Michelle is such a rich character, and this book does wonderful job of touching your heart along with keeping you wanting to continue listening way after the time you should go to sleep. The twists and turns keep you on your toes as we along with Michelle try to figure out what happened to her beloved husband. This page turner is one that I highly recommend!!

Losing it all and fighting your way back up!

Michele Lopez Hanson has finally found her perfect balance. She has the perfect husband, book writing & cycling partner and father to their children. Then everything is taken away from her. She cannot tell which way is up and she can’t even be there for her children when they need her desperately. In fact, her son is being accused of killing her husband Adrian! The mystery is everywhere from the death of Adrian, to the woman stalking him, to the white cars she is constantly seeing. You listen while Michele struggles and you feel it bone deep because you know if you lost your better half you wouldn't be able to hold it all together either! She fights to overcome all of the obstacles that are thrown at her and her family. She pushes hard to accomplish the goal she set out for herself in honor of her husband and as the listener we get to be right by her side. The intrigue keeps you listening until the very last word!

Run after this book don't let it get away

I enjoyed this book but think it is more a triumph over personal struggles than a romantic mystery. There is an element of mystery in the fact the her husband is killed and she keep's getting the feeling she is being followed but it takes awhile before she starts to question why, don't get me wrong it is a good book and I did like it, even if it is emotional. I would recommend having some tissues near by.
Michele and her husband are doing the Iron man race (swimming, bike riding and running) as well as promoting there co authored book together and everything in the world is perfect but then he is killed in a hit and run bike accident and things fall apart. Its hard to grieve in private when you are famous and Michele finds herself live on T.V promising to finish the race in her husband memory but can she complete it? Especially as the police don't thing the hit and run was an accident and there attention start looking her sons direction. To make matters worse a white car is seen every where Michele goes and then the worse thing possible happens an internet report is leaked tarnishing her husband good name and reputation. Can Michele and her dwindling family over come these trails?
I really like this narrator. The author changes the narrator with each set of books but somehow she choose the right reader for each character and this one was perfect for Michele's struggles and triumphs.
