The first Pathfinder novel in years promises a world-changing tale of epic scale set amidst the War of Immortals!

Gods are not meant to die. They're supposed to be immortal, too powerful to be struck down or wither to dust like the people of Golarion. It has been more than a century since Aroden, god of humanity, met his mysterious doom, and his death ushered in a new era of uncertain prophecy and turmoil—the Age of Lost Omens. Now another god has died, his death broadcast across the skies in a metaphysical projection of his murder reverberating over any world on which he was worshipped. And from his rent corpse falls the Godsrain, a torrent of the god's blood and divine essence. Those touched by this rain are blessed—some would say cursed—with a god-spark that imbues upon them mythic power.

Four veteran adventurers—the barbarian Amiri, the wizard Ezren, the cleric Kyra, and her wife, the elven rogue Merisiel—witness this calamity, and with their newfound mythic power find themselves on the trail of fell forces looking to capitalize on the chaos. Using their unique skills, nascent god-sparks, and even the firsthand blessings of one of Golarion's most potent deities, they must race against time and fate to prevent the greatest threat to Golarion and beyond from escaping an impenetrable prison.

From fan-favorite author Liane Merciel (Hellknight, Nightglass, War of Immortals) comes a truly iconic adventure of high fantasy set in the award-winning world of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Follow the heroes from the desert bazaars of Osirion to the heart of the permanent hurricane known as the Eye of Abendego, as they come to terms with their own mortality, the tenuous powers of the immortal gods, and the new world that unfolds before them in the wake of the Godsrain.

This was my first Pathfinder novel and it was a great listen! From the gorey details to the turmoil of emotions each character was feeling. I'm definitely going to be looking for more, and would love to see a follow-up to this story specifically. All the deities involved and the releases of the Adventure Paths this year tell amazing and intricate tales and flesh out the world and characters I've come to learn through playing.

very much enjoyed the story. the only issue and it's a very minor one. the vocal artist in parts sounded like they were trying to loudly whisper. not during a part that needed it, but general narration. Amazing work otherwise!

the character development of 4 of my favorite iconic characters.

A little slow in the middle but I enjoyed it immensely. Great character development & high stakes.

Familiar characters, story made sense, cosmic horror

I thoroughly enjoyed this listen. I love Pathfinder and this was faithful and true to the game, while still maintaining the autonomy of a novel.

Wonderful cast and excellent narration.

Overall I love the lore and universe that is Pathfinder. This story wasn't that impressive to me. Few key moments made this a must read for fans and the rest felt dull or predictable. Don't get me wrong as a lot of set up by the huge event that took place in this story is huge and will ripple through out future of the world...but it just didn't happen here in this book. Maybe this isn't my cup of tea and I stand alone in my opinion, but I have to be honest this read was among one of my personal worst when it comes to fantasy. I hate writing this as I love the TTRPG and many of its adventure path books...but this wasn't it for me.

It's a Story
