Publisher's summary

In crime investigation, there are four causes of death, and only one of them requires an intruder. Murders typically involve suspects external to the crime scene. If there's evidence of an outside intruder, homicide detectives have to prepare for a chase.

Join J. Warner Wallace, former atheist, seasoned cold-case detective, and popular national speaker, as he tackles his most important case...with you on the jury! J. Warner examines eight critical pieces of evidence in the "crime scene" of the universe to determine if they point to a Divine Intruder. If you have ever wondered if something (or someone) outside the natural realm created the universe and everything in it, this is the case for you.

Rich with information and a unique perspective

J. Warner Wallace offers a detective's perspective on the evidence for (an intruder outside the room of the universe) or God. Wallace lines up all of the most well known arguments for deism/theism and uses real life cold case homicide scenarios to draw a correlation between the methods used to solve criminal cases and those used to answer scientific and philosophical questions. He does this quite brilliantly as he walks you through the methodology of crime scene investigation and at the same time formulates powerful arguments for the existence of a theistic God. Skeptics and theistic thinkers alike will find something here to peak their interest, and there is a plethora of information to be studies as well.

Interesting and educational

The narrator did pretty well though would have preferred it by J. Warner Wallace himself. However, it was still very good! Great material and understandable analogies. His experience as a detective sure helps him relate the information with interesting stories. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in the discussion of the possibility of creation.

Meh...

What disappointed you about God's Crime Scene?

I have never bothered to write a book review, but this book was so flimsily argued that I felt compelled to let others know not to waste their money. The author felt comfortable dissecting the frontiers of knowledge in biology, physics, chemistry, and artificial intelligence, and then stating basically that these insights do not provide evidence for the origin of the universe without God. To me, it seems that they provide much stronger evidence that what he considers "evidence," which amounts to logical deductions and unsubstantiated inferences that God must be uncaused, immaterial, atemporal, and originating from outside of the known universe. Does that provide YOU with any clarity? Basically, he does not provide evidence that God created the universe whatsoever, and his arguments are basically "God-of-the-gaps" in nature. As Neil deGrasse Tyson noted, such arguments imply that "God is an ever-receding pocket of scientific ignorance that's getting smaller and smaller and smaller as time goes on." Furthermore, I find it presumptuous that the author feels qualified enough to be a spokesperson for cutting-edge biology, psychology, artificial intelligence, and physics research - in areas where investigators always face a gray wall - and to comment on the limitations in these fields. I mean, after all, the guy has no formal training in any of these areas, best I can tell. If you do find this book compelling, then the author is just preaching to the choir anyway. Books like this, with such flaccid reasoning, rob me of faith, rather than increase it.

Cool take on a hot topic

I dig the perspective and now I want to listen to Cold Case Christianity too. Several of his conclusions are more suppositions that he presents as the only logical conclusion, which kind of bothers me, but not enough to not really enjoy the listen. He tied in a lot of thoughts and questions that I've had since I was little and presents them with plenty of additional perspectives from other authors and minds from both sides of the argument. I'm a fan.

Good Read (hearing)

I will not say all the discussions satisfy everything. However they do have very good points worth considering for every topic covered. Worth listening too.

An excellent objective perspective that adds value

Mr. Wallace does a phenomenal job of objectively presenting and analyzing the evidence for the origins of the universe, and he demonstrates a logically sound and evidentially supported stance on the issue.
