Best ending I've listened to in a long time.

This book and series is fantastic. I love how all the pantheons mix together and old tales get twisted into new stories. Shayne is a master of his craft. The narration for this series is also very well done!

As always. Callie delivered.

Need more book now

What a great series. I love it. My only complaint but not complaint was there was a lot of “filler” parts. Like maybe S.S. Was already ready for the next book and wanted to get this book over with. There were parts that I legit had to skip, some a full 15 min, because it was so much inner dialogue. But holy skeleton, was I cracking up. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard with Xylo and his red balloon.

I want all authors to take note. If you are going to claim your female lead as a bad as$ in the description, then you better make her an actual bad a$s and not a whiny love struck teen. This is how female leads should be. Shayne Silvers, please give us the next book. In fact, just give us all the books. I can’t wait!

Also, Nicole Poole is amazing. I don’t care what other reviewers on prior books say. Nicole IS Callie. She brought these characters to life. How her voice was gruff for Xylo. I mean come on! Great job on picking her for this series narration. :)

Stuck With Dracula

In this episode, we're stuck in Dracula's realm. There are two plot twists at the end that affect the current story and the larger story arc. The main character is growing personally, which is nice to see.

Wow this is a good one

I’ve been reading other reviews of this series and at first understanding why everyone complains about the narrator but I gotta say I enjoy her odd little off pronunciations. I find them endearing. It took me into the second box set but I have grown fond and am a little Leary to go back to the last book of the temple series at this point i think it’s 18 or something like that. I’m saving that one and book 9 of this series for after I get that 3rd series and get mostly thru that. Then I’ll do last book last book last book back to back. To avoid spoilers. If you’re unaware this series runs parallel to the Nate Temple series and Harley Quinn I believe. Haven’t got to that one yet. So if you’re smarter than me do the first box set of temple this this series first box set then back to temple so you can see each person thru the series together

Good story but give the waxing lyrical a rest

Liked this story, love Zylos character, hope he keeps that name and am loving the latest ‘reveal’ in the long con that seems to have been put in place by some very disturbing parents lol. But...

While I am really enjoying the templeverse series and I especially like Callie’s story arc, I feel like the author is starting to get a bit too wrapped up in his little side pauses and over explanations. The characters really don’t need to think about what they’re going to do next for 10 minutes, most irritating example in recent books is actually from black sheep where Callie spends nearly 10 minutes raging about what she was going to do to the sexually abusive vampires , all while her friend was presumably still being abused, and only about 3 actually killing them. Spending a couple of minutes thinking about how she’s gonna make them pay makes sense and lends to the story, spending 10 minutes is just starting to feel like the author is more focused on his own desire to shove as much of his own sense of poetic language into the book then what actually adds value to the story. Get on with it already! I was hoping it was a one off but those extended side bars do seem to be creeping in more. I hope it doesn’t carry on or get worse as that could ruin a series I have been genuinely enjoying.

Thrills, spills and warm fuzzies

I *love* the Templeverse and Callie Penrose is one of my favourites. The narrator is, as always, brilliant and captures the character perfectly. The story itself has the thrills, spills and warm fuzzies I’ve come to love from Shayne Silvers. I can’t wait for the next instalment!
