Still a fan

The story is good. The series is fantastic. Few gripes. The relationship between D and his werewolf is seriously slow to develop. The fact that Chris and Tanya brought Declan on as an intern allegedly as a special part of their inner circle; however, he continued to get flack from all of Chris other staff got irritating. It seemed like Chris and Tanya where a bit less intelligent in this book. It challenged my ability to suspend disbelief when the intern is called to his bosses room; however, the intern can't get past an overzealous door man. Either Chris and Tanya are not capable of putting better staff at their door or they can't keep their staff informed of their expectations of the intern's pending arrival or they are not bright enough to realize second and third order effects of their administrative decisions. Of course, none of the explanations are consistent with their characters. That's the problem. The author is needlessly lowering the IQ of his two strongest characters whenever he writes a story focused on Declan. It's almost... almost a deal breaker.

Wonderful book. Series is unstoppable.

This is a great urban fantasy series. This one in particular does something that few books can, it divides the storyline between two characters without disrupting the flow of the story. They are two stories, but they are masterfully interwoven. I will admit that the narrator deserves a great amount of credit for that as well. Perfectly narrated with many characters that are so well performed you wonder why they left the "said Tanya" "said Dekland". Really dig into it. Start with the first. You'll devour them.

DO NOT MISS THIS SERIES. But start at God Touched

This series is outstanding! it hooks you in the first 2 pages and does not let go - even 9 books later. On Facebook people are constantly urging John Conroe to write faster in order to get the next book in the series out faster! I couldn't agree with them more!

Did you like The Dresden Files? The try this

This series of stories seem to be about a younger Harry Dresden type, but he is not a wizard , he is a witch just as disrespectful and mouthy as Harry. Harry had a skull with a resident spirit in the book God Hammer the spirit lives with in the witch.
Modern day story dealing once again with corrupt and greedy government types and mixing the spirit world with computers and software
Try it it's kind of a fun listen

This book was worth the wait. Chris is an great character, but Deklin is an awesome character and together.... Wow. I'm actually upset the book is over.

God Hammer narrative

This is part of a terrific series which have been really well read - until now. James Patrick Cronin is an excellent narrator, but, in College Arcane and this book his Irish accent has, at times, been more Cockney, while his Australian accent is truly embarrassing. Please, please visit Australia and listen to people's speech!!

He wants to be Jim Butler so bad.

Just read the Jim Butcher Harry Dresden series instead. He does everything in his power to rip off every aspect of the Harry Dresden books.

Dresden talks to Angels, Chris talks to Angels.
Dresden got a vampire pregnant, so did Chris.
Dresden books had a satellite pulled from the sky, so does this series.
Dresden has a pet with a weird mystical beginning, so does chris.

And so on and so on.

When is the next one coming out

I love this series. I am left wanting to know what happens next.... And having to wait to find out... Which I hate. Chris and Dec have similar voices (narrator) so you have to remember who is talking sometimes. This story fully integrates the story lines. Just a good listen

Deluded

Is there anything you would change about this book?

With too main characters I think the story is getting away and deluded from what I liked about the original stories which were mainly about Chris. I like Declan but not enough to be a main character and take up so much time in the story.

What about James Patrick Cronin’s performance did you like?

I like everything about his performances

Did God Hammer inspire you to do anything?

Maybe not continue with the story

Any additional comments?
