Audiobook read by Zachary Levi

Radical Love is the debut memoir from actor Zachary Levi (Shazam!, American Underdog, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Chuck), which shares his emotional journey through a lifetime of crippling anxiety and depression to find joy, gratitude, and ultimate purpose.

Facing the scars of childhood trauma and the voices in his head that told him he would never be enough, Zac recounts the raw yet honest behind-the-scenes story of:

  • his family life,
  • career successes,
  • and personal disappointments.

This all led Zac to rock bottom and landed him in a therapy center, where he learned to address the underlying issues that preceded his downward spiral. With vulnerability and humor, Zac relates the valuable lessons and insights he’s learned so that you can rise from the ashes of trauma and pursue a meaningful life of gratitude.

Radical Love combines witty, touching, and powerful commentary with relatable illustrations to help you on your own path toward mental wellness.

Loved it

As a mental health therapist I read this book and saw with different eyes I guess. I loved it beyond words, regardless of the fact that I’m a big fan of Zachary Levi! It’s raw, it’s honest, it truly depicts what depression and anxiety feels like and how one many times triggers the other. I’ve been recommending this book to everyone, especially to those I know have endured similar parental abuse and symptoms. Didn’t mind the cursing, that’s just how he speaks (and so do I).

Love this book and Zachary Levi!!!

I laughed and I cried and I can’t wait to read it again. I have loved watching him in all his movies and TV shows, never knowing all the pain and suffering he endured. This story is raw and beautiful and should be read by anyone trying to heal from abuse.

I can't love this more

As someone who struggles with very similar mental illness, I can't love this audiobook more. The story hit me in the feels. The narrating was amazing. I am so glad I got the audiobook before I buy the hardcopy.

Profound and relatable

This hit the mail on the head for me. To hear it so clearly from someone else’s perspective helped me so much. I now am trying to make better choices in the words I use to my self and about myself especially out loud in front of my children. This showed me that generational curses of these types can be broken. It will end with me.

Impactful!

As a man who is currently in the nightmare of mental health breakdown brought in by a divorcing marriage, an abusive childhood and engrained destructive patterns of thinking and being in this world, I can relate to so much of what is being said.
My biggest take away, I am not alone, and I am going to be ok, so long as I do the work, the real deep dark work.

Thank you Zach for writing this.

Amazing, uplifting story!

Zachary Levi telling the story of his struggle with mental health is what everyone needs to hear!
Even if you don’t think you need to hear it.

He is straight forward and real.

This is how the world should talk about mental health. It’s not a forbidden, shameful subject. It is real and should be discussed!

"All Out of Love" for yourself? READ THIS BOOK

If you are familiar with Zachary Levi, then you know the "performance" in reading his own work will not disappoint. Like the lovable goofball he is, he speaks clearly and with all the emotion his book requires. He gives each person a unique voice during the dialog to engage the audience as well as entertain.

This is such a real, raw memoir from Zachary Levi's emotional journey through mental wellness. Humans have always been captivated by a good story; from cave drawings to Voltaire to the next paranormal romance craze. Each chapter in this story, starts with a positive message followed by a smooth transition into a glimpse of Zac's both distant and more immediate past experiences. By the end of each chapter, I experienced reactions ranging from, "Holy sh*t!" to "What the f*ck?!" to trying to collect my jaw up off the floor. He explains his point of view very eloquently, leaving himself vulnerable to the ruthless, albeit hurting, social media critics. He explains that his faith, which is rooted in Christianity, played a major roll in his healing process, along with several different types of therapy specialist including a nutritionist, life coach, and fitness routine. More than one approach is required to healing mental trauma. This is not a "pray-the-depression-away" book. Zac acknowledges other beliefs and comes across as supportive of whatever you choose to believe or not believe. I also feel it worth mentioning how respectfully he wrote about his past romantic relationships. This story's purpose is to help each of us to understand, accept, forgive, and love each other. And it starts within yourself. We're all broken, in one way or another, and we all deserve grace. We all deserve love. Unyielding, no-strings-attached, radical love.
