Publisher's summary

Second grade teacher Mia Delaney isn't looking for love. In fact, she isn't looking for anything at all because life hasn't been fair. Everything - the idea of love, her hopes and dreams - was ripped away in a single night.

Arrogant yet sexy Adam Lawson makes the move to a small town in an attempt to escape life in the city. Here he hopes to provide a fresh start for those he loves and protects with a vow to never let anyone get close enough to hurt them again.

A chance encounter with Miss Delaney begins a relentless pursuit that has Adam breaking his own rules when he makes an offer she simply can't refuse. Despite her internal struggles, Mia knows there's no denying the attraction between them.

But when acquaintances become friends and friends become enemies, Adam's need to protect those around him becomes even more crucial. Will the tangled web of lies and betrayal combined with past insecurities become too much for them to handle?

This is a slow build story.

Loved this book! Falling for the new guy in town, when you know he is bad news! The character development in this story is great. The plot has a few twists that have yet to be divulged. Getting the next book to see where this story goes!

My Two Pennies

I'm going with a 3.7 and bringing up to a 4. Narration wise it's great and I absolutely loving every second. You feel exactly how Mia is feeling throughout the story. My attention was held a little further on and that's when I really started to soak in the story. We're introduced to Adam, a single dad with 2 children. His daughter just so happens to be a student in Mia's class. You can feel the chemistry between these instantly but at the same time Adam is giving off mixed vibes which Mia question herself about how he feels. As we get further into the story Adam continues to be hot and cold and I can't quite figure this man out. Between the two of them secrets are kept from everyone including us as readers but have no fear because we're given answers to some over time and I personally think that's where the story really picks up. This is not a standalone and we're left with a bit of a cliffhanger that makes you want to jump right into book two. You'll be itching to know what happens next.

A scorching hot, addictive series.

What made the experience of listening to Giving in to You the most enjoyable?

This story had me completely glued and I can't wait to listen to the rest of the series.
I loved the narrative voice in this book; laced with humour, Mia's inner monologues, observations and sharp retorts are funny and relevant.
Adam was a little bit more mysterious as we are not privy to his back story until later in the book. He has a dark air of mystery around him which I quite like and he is also fiercely protective of Mia. I liked that Mia challenges him on his cave-man actions and is able to stand up for herself.

What does Tracy Marks bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I've listened to Tracy Marks narrations before and I am always impressed by her ability to perform all the characters with such believable expression. Her voice and narration style is very easy to listen to and I find myself being truly immersed in the story.

Well worth the emotional investment!

First of all I think narrator Tracy Marks is becoming a one-click narrator for me. She is amazing at bringing the book to life in each character.
Mia is a great heroine as a strong character but with an heart-wrenching backstory. The author did a great job building your attachment to her.
Hello Adam- hottie alpha male that you immediately fall head over heels for from the get go even though you might not want to. He is frustrating and aggravating, but as the story unfolds, you get to understand all his reasons for being the person he is.
This is well worth the credit and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

I'm Hooked on this Trilogy!

Love this story. It has all the story elements that extract a variety of emotions. I can't wait to find what happens next. I just hope I don't have to wait long between books 2 &3.
The narrator Tracy Marks is terrific! Be sure check her narration of other works too.

If you could sum up Giving in to You in three words, what would they be?

watch your bavk

Who was your favorite character and why?

Adam although I think he and Mia both have issues.

Which character – as performed by Tracy Marks – was your favorite?

I think she did well with all of the characters. You could feel the love when she did Adam's children.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes because I had to know how it ended and of course it is a cliffhanger.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed book one now I need to finish the series.

Unexpected Treasure!

Any additional comments?

This is the first time listening to a book by L. M. Carr and I must say that this was an expected treasure. The book was entertaining and kept my attention all the way to the end. Mia and Adam are hot together and have great chemistry. I definitely want to listen to the 2nd book in this trilogy. Narrator did an excellent job. This is definitely a book that you will not want to miss.

wow

Wow, quite a build up....then....

So frustrated right now! I started this book via Audible. Then I got so into it, I pulled out my kindle to read it.

Both versions are great, but I couldn't stop. Once that wicked man has you, you can't avoid his grasp...

Mia has been let down, shit on, and run over in her life. She has zero to nil trust in men...because she's been shit on and run over. She can't work up the enthusiasm to deal with her ex. She has no desire to go back to that mess. But he won't leave her alone. Add to that the sexy man in the park and Mia is a busy girl. Except really she wants nothing to do with either because both spell Trouble. With a capital T.

But remember when you one click, this is part of a trilogy and ends in an abrupt WTF moment! I suggest one clicking them all and then binge reading because there is no way not to continue!

4 NEED More Star's

I should have clued in on the Trilogy part of the title. Yes it’s a cliff-hanger…. But so worth the listen.

This story is a slow burn but it packs a punch. Or at least it did for me.

Mia Delaney single and the second grade teacher, she has been hurt badly in the past and isn’t looking for anything.
I like that she isn’t afraid to be alone. She has the best freaking dog ever!

She is content to live vicariously through her best friend Shelby who is recently married.
Living in a small town can be a blessing and a curse everyone knows you and your past.
Gina is her rival who not only cheated on her with her boyfriend at the time but continues to be a thorn in Mia’s side.

So when single Dad Adam Lawson comes to town not only does he throw a wrench in Mia’s newly controlled life but also she throws one in his.
His kids are adorable you fall in love with them as much as with these two.

The interaction between these two is fun and hot, hot. They feel each other when the other is around if that doesn’t make for good chemistry I don’t know what does.

Some strange things do start happening, but I can't tell you or it would give to much away. All I can say is listen to the dog people... well that's what I wanted to shout anyways.

I can’t say what but book 2 better be in audio soo I swear it this was a great listen. The narrator Tracy Marks brings this gem to life. I want, I need, I am begging for more!!
