Publisher's summary

Dr. Hawkins elaborates on his personal growth, physical challenges, and the different aspects of self-healing available through the power of A Course in Miracles. He shares his personal experience with alcohol and his journey "out of hell". Elaborating on how we are subject to only what we hold in mind, he takes us through his fascinating journey of self-healing. "Ultimately," he says, "the Course leads us to a deep joy and peace in understanding that we are not separate. We are truly one and have always been so. From top to bottom, there is nothing that we can’t change by paying attention to the concepts of the Course."

Would you consider the audio edition of Giving Up Illness Through 'A Course in Miracles' to be better than the print version?

I'm not aware of print version of this recorded workshop

What did you like best about this story?

amazing story, first hand experiences/understanding based on ACIM principles

Did David R. Hawkins MD do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

loved Dr. Hawkins genuine self and the message he shares from experience

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

healing and consciousness

Any additional comments?

highly recommended whether you are dealing with a serious illness or not, even though the sound quality is not very good- the message is POWERFUL!!!

Pros and Cons

I did not like Hawkin's reading of Power vs Force because he is just reading, and the monotone delivery made it hard to listen and stay focused. In this book, however, he speaks to a group, and this is where he really shines. There is a lot of great material here, some familiar ideas and events also given in his other books but spiritual gold and well worth repeating. Weaknesses of the book: 1) I couldn't hear any of the questions his audience asked, though I don't think too much was lost because the answers he gives are comprehensive. 2) The last forty minutes or so are taken by another person speaking and I did not find this inspiring or helpful. Still, I do recommend the book to anyone with an interest in ACIM or in Hawkin's work.

Good material

Good material but bad audio quality. If you hear this book for the first time and don't know what is about it's hard to follow due to the bad recording quality it has. I recommend you try another one first or look for another with better sound

Amazing!

I can’t understand how this knowledge could have existed since the 70s and I’m only now discovering it? I’ll be taking the course. Hawkins’ Q&A segment will blow your mind!

amazing material but low quality

An amazing audiobook. Unfortunately parts are uncomprehendable due to quality. Even still it's worth it.

It's not a book, just some recorded seminars

Not what I expected! Audio quality is very poor. However, the content, especially the first 2/3 - 3/4 is outstanding. It made up for the poor quality.

Good content but poor recording

Any additional comments?

It's a great talk but the quality of the recording is so terrible that you can't hear some parts of the talk
