Publisher's Summary

Death has come for the undying.

As a genetics graduate student, Sasha Keleterina knows a thing or two about blood. She’s courageous, capable, and not the kind of woman in need of saving. But when she’s attacked in her lab, she barely escapes with her life - only to find out she’s becoming one of the undead.

A deadly virus is poisoning vampires in the Portland area, endangering them all. Master vampire Arsen Eskandar is desperate to prove himself and save his people.

Following the trail of a recent attacker, Arsen encounters Sasha. She’s beautiful, intelligent, and a fighter, and the attraction between them burns like wildfire.

But when the master of a rival clan declares Sasha is not only his, but the cure, a centuries-old war between two ancient vampire clans rises to the forefront, and a battle to claim Sasha ensues.

But they don’t know her. The only one Sasha is willing to be claimed by - is herself.

Stuck between vampires...

Talk about an independent women even when she is pulled into vampire world with all its rules and traditions she will not be told what to do. And she sure as heck with tell you what she thinks with no filter. Sasha is a great sassy main character with some very handsome men co-characters. Niko and Arsen add some great heat between master and the opposite clans prince. The decision is which clan will she choose and will the choice be the right one with both fight for the plague that is attacking their kind. Sasha now feels like she needs to help but can they all work together or will it be a fight to the death. I'm excited to see how her pick pans out in the next book.

UGH!

The most unlikeable heroine ! Saha bitches and fema nazis’ her way through the story all the while falling into bed with a smooth taking jerk just like millions of her less mouthy, less self righteous predecessors and with a total lack of self awareness. While the story line could have been promising, the unlikeable heroine made it difficult to get through. Not interested in following this series.

Good start

This is a good start to this series. I really enjoy the different take on vampires in this world. It was also fun to take more of a scientific view and trying to find out what is causing vampires to get sick and go mad. Some of the characters at times made me want to scream or smack them but overall this was still really good and I’m excited for the next book in the series.

Great start

Although this story starts off slow I really enjoyed how things worked out. I was glad to see that simple every day "actions" were not described in detail as my brain automatically put the actions in, to much detail turns me off a book. There was quite the surprise at the end of this book so give it a listen, as the narrator does a wonderful job with the characters.

Meh

I found this story very hard to get into. I found myself tuning the narrator out and having to rewind because I kept getting lost in the story.

This story-line just was not my cup of tea. I was not excited about the characters or the story-line. Often stopping the player and moving onto another story.

A great listen

I loved this book. The story quickly pulls you in and has enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. The heroine is likeable, bright and independent, while the male leads keep you guessing about their motives. I’ll be downloading the next book in the series ASAP.

Loved it ❤️

This is the first book I have read by Graceley Knox and D.D. Miers and it won’t be the last. I listened to the audible version and I can’t recommend it enough. Graceley and D.D’s story is fantastic and it’s backed up by brilliant narration.
Sasha is a graduate genetics student and is working late one night in her university lab. After taking a much needed juice break she comes back into the lab to find her fellow students with their throats torn out. She is terrified as there is blood everywhere but what makes it worse is who ever did it is still there in the lab in the blood bank. She is hiding and terrified when he starts to come out. When he does he claims he knows the little rabbit is there and can hear her heart beating. Peaking from her hiding space she can’t believe her eyes as it looks like his eyes are glowing and his teeth must have been sharpened as no way can somene have unnatural teeth like that.
She does the only thing she can do and run only to find the university security staff have met the same end as her fellow students in the lab. She is tackled to the floor and before it all goes black she feels her attackers face at her neck and a horrible pain there.

This is the opening scene and it was so tense and scary you could imagine you were Sacha and live it all with her. Misbelief and fear at what is happening.

The story is an epic ride from here where we find two waring vampire covens that both think she is the key to finding a cure for a new disease attacking the vampires. Both leaders of these covens want her and will stop at nothing to get her. It is a wild rollercoaster ride.

Sasha is my favourite type of female lead. She is out spoken, sassy and a force to be reckoned with. The narrator is great at really delivering what she is about.

This is not to be missed. Great escapism for lockdown. Highly recommend 5/5
